HomeMy WebLinkAbout1997-02-10 - City Commission Workshop Meeting MinutesCITY OF TAMARAC CITY COMMISSION WORKSHOP MONDAY, FEBRUARY 10, 1997 CALL TO.ORDER; Vice Mayor Mishkin called the workshop to order on Monday, February 10, 1997, at 11:00 a.m. in Conference Room #1 of Tamarac, City Hall, 7525 Northwest 88th Avenue, Tamarac, Florida. PRESENT: Vice Mayor Larry Mishkin Commissioner Bruce Hoffman Commissioner John E. McKaye Commissioner Joseph Schreiber ALSO PRESENT, Robert S. Noe, Jr., City Manager Mitchell S. Kraft, City Attorney Tim Hemstreet, Assistant to City Manager Patricia Marcurio, CMC, Assistant City Clerk Chris King, Senior Planner Phyllis Polikoff, Office Specialist Tape 1 2. Discussion of School Board use of two rooms at the Multi -Purpose Center There was discussion and City Manager Noe recommended preparing a contract with the School Board. Vice Mayor Mishkin concurred and there was no further. discussion. 1. 2/12/97 Commission Agenda Items Discussion was held regarding Items 6, 10, signage on all new buildings as well as Items 8, 11 and 12. Chris King discussed the telecommunications ordinance and City Manager Noe recommended the ordinance be revised, tabled at the February 12, 1997 regular City Commission meeting and readvertised. Vice Mayor Mishkin called for a consensus and the Commissioners agreed to table, revise and readvertise the ordinance and discussion followed on special exceptions regarding towers. 14 City Commission Workshop February 10, 1997 Page 2 Comm. Schreiber discussed used cars on property south of Fire Station #1 and City Attorney Kraft addressed the University Texaco gas station on McNab Road and University Drive. City Manager Noe referred to the February 6, 1997 workshop and discussion regarding The Courtyards. He said a report would be prepared for the Broward County delegation subcommittee stating the City's concerns. Vice Mayor Mishkin announced a workshop to be held on February 18 at 9:30 A.M. and requested the City Manager give an update on the telecommunications ordinance.
