CITY COMMISSION WORKSHOP
MONDAY, JUNE 16, 1997
9ALL 10 ORDER: Mayor Schreiber called the workshop to order on Monday, June 16,
1997, at 9:30 a.m. in Conference Room #1 of Tamarac City Hall, 7525 Northwest 88th
Avenue, Tamarac, Florida.

A representative of Carr Smith Associates, architects, made a presentation.
2. Entranceway Signage Program
Jeffrey Miller made a presentation. Direction was given to prepare an item adopting a
City entranceway sign program for the June 25, 1997 regular City Commission meeting.

Mayor Schreiber called for a recess at 10:20 a.m. and the workshop reconvened at
10:25 a.m. with everyone present.
Kathleen Margoles commented on the Parks and Recreation Department.

4. Workshop List Items
Mayor Schreiber recommended a reduced speed sign and not a through street sign at
Academy Hills and commented on record storage and I.A.F.F. negotiations.
V/M Mishkin commented on the Thanksgiving Turkey Trot and Parks and Recreation
eliminating some holiday functions and decorations.
Mayor Schreiber discussed building and roof inspections on holidays and
recommended residents allowing pre -blasting inspections, a traffic signal in front of Fire
Station #1 and creation of Educational and Economic Advisory Committees. There was
further discussion concerning the Chamber of Commerce, Commissioners appointing
their own legislative aides, Caporella Park, municipal parking lots, street paving and the
City Manager's evaluation.
With no further discussion, Mayor Schreiber adjourned the workshop at 12:25 p.m.
