CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R-2005- O'
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, RECOMMENDING THE
APPOINTMENT OF EITHER MAYOR JOE SCHREIBER OR
COMMISSIONER EDWARD C. PORTNER TO THE
BROWARD COUNTY PLANNING COUNCIL; DIRECTING
THE CITY CLERK TO SEND A COPY OF THIS
RESOLUTION TO THE DISTRICT ONE COUNTY
COMMISSIONER; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS;
PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR
AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Tamarac desires to promote coordinated,
comprehensive, long range planning throughout Tamarac and Broward County; and
WHEREAS, the Broward County Planning Council is the multi -jurisdictional
planning agency for Broward County; and
WHEREAS, the City of Tamarac wishes to participate as a member of the
Broward County Planning Council; and
WHEREAS, each County Commission member appoints an elected municipal
official from their respective district to serve on the Broward County Planning Council;
and
WHEREAS, Tamarac Mayor Joe Schreiber and Commissioner Edward C.
Portner have expressed an interest in serving on the Broward County Planning Council;
and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida deems it to be
in the best interest of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to request that

Broward County District 1 Commissioner Ilene Lieberman appoint either Mayor Joe
Schreiber or Commissioner Edward C. Portner to serve on the Broward County
Planning Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
Section 1: That the foregoing "WHEREAS' clauses are hereby ratified and
confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this
Resolution.
Section 2: That the City Commission of the City of Tamarac recommends the
appointment of either Mayor Joe Schreiber or Commissioner Edward C. Portn r by
Broward County District 1 Commissioner Ilene Lieberman to the Broward County
Planning Council
Section 3: That the City Clerk is directed to send a copy of this resolution to
Broward County Commissioner Ilene Lieberman.
Section 4: All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed to the extent of such conflict.
Section 5: If any clause, section, other part or application of this Resolution is
held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part for in
application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portion or applications of this
Resolution.

This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its
PASSED, ADOPTED AND APPROVED this 12t" day of January, 2005.
