CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R-2005-123
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, APPOINTING FIVE REGULAR
MEMBERS, ONE ALTERNATE MEMBER, AND A
CHAIRPERSON TO THE SOCIAL SERVICES BOARD TO
SERVE ONE-YEAR TERMS EXPIRING JUNE 22, 2006;
PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR
SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Commission is desirous of appointing five regular members,
one alternate member, and a Chairperson to the Social Services Board to serve one-
year terms expiring June 22, 2006; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with Sections 2-201 and 2-202 of the Tamarac Code
the Social Services Board shall consist of five regular members and two alternate
members who shall be appointed by the City Commission on an annual basis; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 2-202 of the Tamarac Code, the
Chairperson of the Board shall be appointed by the City Commission; and
WHEREAS, the Interim Parks and Recreation Director and City Manager
recommend approval; and

WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida, deems it to be
in the best interest of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to appoint five
regular members, one alternate member, and a Chairperson to the Social Services
Board to serve one-year terms expiring June 22, 2006.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: The foregoing WHEREAS clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed
as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution.
SECTION 2: That pursuant to Sections 2-201 and 2-202 of the Tamarac Code,
the following people are hereby appointed as regular members of the Social Services
Board to serve one-year terms expiring June 22, 2006, or until such time as
reappointments are made:
Ellen S. Amchin
Dr. Barbara Fallon
Ellen B. Moltz
Dr. Carol J. Bakwin
Mae Goldberg

SECTION 3: That pursuant to Sections 2-201 and 2-202 of the Tamarac Code,
the following person is hereby appointed as an alternate member of the Social Services
Board to serve a one-year term expiring June 22, 2006, or until such time as
reappointments are made:
Irving Greenberg
SECTION 4: That pursuant to Section 2-202 of the Tamarac Code, the following
person is hereby appointed to serve as Chairperson of the Social Services Board for a
one-year term expiring June 22, 2006, or until such time as reappointments are made:
Dr. Barbara Fallon
SECTION 5: All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 6: If any clause, section, other part or application of this Resolution is
held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part or
application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions or applications of this
Resolution.

SECTION 7: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon adoption.
