CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORID
RESOLUTION NO. R-96- .Z.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
TAMARAC, FLORIDA, APPROVING A WAIVER TO THE SIGN
CODE ORDINANCE REQUESTED BY ROBERTS. COHN OF
ROBERT S. COHN AND ASSOCIATES, INC. TO ERECT A
DIRECTIONAL SIGN AT COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL WITH
FOUR LINES OF COPY TO BE LOCATED AT THE REAR PARKING
LOT OF UNIVERSITY PAVILION; PROVIDING FOR CONDITIONS
OF APPROVAL; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, PROVIDING FOR
SEVERABILITY PROVIDING FOR AR EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Robert S. Cohn of Robert S. Cohn and Associates, Inc. has requested a waiver
from Code Chapter 18 governing signs to erect a directional sign at Columbia University Hospital with
four lines of copy to be located at the rear parking lot of University Pavilion; and
WHEREAS, the Building Official, reviewed said waiver and recommends approval for the
directional sign with four lines of copy; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida has the authority pursuant to
the Code Section 18-42 to grant waivers; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida deems it to be in the best
interests of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to grant this waiver.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That the foregoing WHEREAS clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed as
being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of the Resolution.
SECTION 2: That the waiver to the Sign Code Chapter 18 requested by Robert S. Cohn of
Robert S. Cohn and Associates, Inc. to erect a directional sign at Columbia University Hospital with
four lines of copy to be located at the rear parking lot of University Pavilion; is HEREBY APPROVED.

SECTION 3: Conditions of approval:

SECTION 4: All Resolutions or parts of Resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to
the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 5: If any clause, section, other part or application of this Resolution is held by any
court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part or application, it shall not affect
the validity of the remaining portions or applications of this Resolution.
SECTION 6: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon adoption. PASSED,
ADOPTED AND APPROVED this 2-5 day of Se4Lft, 1996.
