CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R-96- 257
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA,
APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF TWENTY
THREE (23) MICROCOMPUTERS FROM
GATEWAY 2000 UTILIZING STATE OF
FLORIDA CONTRACT NUMBER 250-040-96-1
AT AN ESTIMATED COST OF $49,000;
PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING
FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR
AN EFFEQTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, new and replacement microcomputers were approved in the FY97
budget; and
WHEREAS, Gateway 2000 provides State of Florida contract pricing under Contract
Number 250-040-96-1; and
WHEREAS, City Code §6-155 allows the waiver of formal contract procedures for
all supplies, materials and equipment, which are the subject of contracts with the State;
and
WHEREAS, the terms offered by Gateway 2000 are found to be very competitive
in the open market place; and
WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the Director of MIS and the Purchasing and
Contracts Manager that the City purchase microcomputers from Gateway 2000; and
WHEREAS, funding for this purchase is budgeted in multiple departments and
funds; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida deems it to be in
the best interests of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to approve the
purchase of microcomputers from Gateway 2000.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:

SECTION 1 , The foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and
confirmed as being true and correct and is hereby made a specific part of this Resolution.
SECTION 2. The purchase of twenty three (23) microcomputers at an
estimated cost of $49,000 IS HEREBY APPROVED to be purchased from Gateway 2000
utilizing State of Florida Contract Number 250-040-96-1.
SECTION 3: All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are
hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 4: If any clause, section, other part or application of this Resolution
is held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part or
application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions or applications of this
Resolution.
SECTION 5: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its
passage and adoption.
