CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R 96-
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA APPROVING THE RENEWAL OF
BROWARD GOVERNMENTAL PURCHASING
COOPERATIVE GROUP BID #94-C-046F, GAS CHLORINE
AND GRANULAR CHLORINE, FOR A TOTAL NOT TO
EXCEED $17,000.00, APPROVING FUNDING FROM
ACCOUNT 425-363-533-527 ENTITLED, "CHEMICALS";
PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR
SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
. WHEREAS, Chlorine is used for disinfection purposes in the supply of potable
drinking water in accordance with Federal, State and Local Regulations; and
WHEREAS, Broward Governmental Purchasing Cooperative Group has renewed
Bid #94-C-046F for the purchase of Chlorine awarded to Allied Universal Corporation for
one year under the same price, terms and conditions from March 1, 1996 through February
28, 1997; and
WHEREAS, City Code §6-154 allows the Purchasing Officer the authority to join
with other units of government in cooperative purchasing when the best interest of the City
would be served; and
WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the Utilities Director and the Purchasing
Officer that Broward County Cooperative Bid #94-C-046F, Gas Chlorine and Granular
Chlorine, be renewed; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida deems it to be in
the best interest of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to purchase Chlorine
from Allied Universal Corporation utilizing Broward Governmental Purchasing Cooperative
Group Bid #94-C-046F.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
TAMARAC, FLORIDA-

Section 1: The foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed as
being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this resolution.
Section 2: The renewal of Broward Governmental Purchasing Cooperative Group
Bid #94-C-046F at and estimated cost of $17,000 is HEREBY APPROVED.
Section 3: Funding for the purchase is budgeted under Account 425-363-533-527
entitled "Chemicals" at a total cost not to exceed $17,000.
Section 4: All Resolutions or parts of Resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed to the extent of such conflict.
Section 5: If any clause, section, other part or application of this Resolution is held
by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part or application,
it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions or applications of this Resolution.
