CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R2000-168
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
TAMARAC, FLORIDA, APPOINTING FIVE (5) MEMBERS TO THE
SOCIAL SERVICES BOARD; APPOINTING A CHAIRPERSON TO
THE SOCIAL SERVICES BOARD; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS;
PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Commission is desirous of appointing five (5)
members to the Social Services Board to serve one-year terms; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 2-202 of the Tamarac Code
(attached hereto as Exhibit A) members of the Social Services Board and a
Chairperson shall be appointed by the City Commission to serve one (1) year
terms; and
WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Director and City Manager
recommend approval; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, deems it to be in
the best interest of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to appoint
five (5) members and a Chairperson to the Social Services Board.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:

SECTION 1: That the foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified
and confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of
this Resolution.
SECTION 2: That pursuant to Section 2-202 of the Tamarac Code, the
following people are hereby appointed as members of the Social Services Board
to serve one (1) year terms expiring June 26, 2001, or until such time as
reappointments are made:
Michael J. Coakley
Elizabeth J. Kennedy
Helen Sobel
Carlton L. Harris
Beatres Lindenman
SECTION 3: In accordance with Section 2-202 of the Tamarac Code, the
following person is appointed to serve as Chairperson of the Social Services
Board to serve a one year term, expiring June 26, 2001, or until such time as
reappointments are made:
Helen Sobel
SECTION 4: All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are
hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 5: If any clause, section, other part or application of this
Resolution is held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or
invalid, in part or application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining
portions or applications of this Resolution.

SECTION 6: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon
adoption.
PASSED, ADOPTED AND APPROVED this 26th day of June, 2000.
