R-2000-234 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE APPROPRIATE CITY OFFICIALS TO APPROVE A REQUEST FROM THE TAMARAC CHAMBER OF COMMERCE TO BECOME A PLATINUM SPONSOR AND TO PROVIDE INKIND SERVICES FOR THE TAMARAC DAYS EVENT ON OCTOBER 28 AND 29, 2000; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Manager's Office received a request from the Tamarac Chamber of Commerce to provide certain inkind services and a request to become a Platinum Sponsor at a cost of $2,500.00 for Tamarac Days, attached hereto as Exhibits A and B; and WHEREAS, the City of Tamarac, Florida, wishes to continue to support the Chamber of Commerce for this Community Event; and WHEREAS, The City Manager recommends approval of the request to become a Platinum Sponsor and to provide designated inkind services for Tamarac Days; and WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida deems it to be in the best interests of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac, to approve becoming a Platinum Sponsor and providing designated inkind services to the Tamarac Chamber of Commerce for Tamarac Days. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA: SECTION 1: The foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this resolution. 1 1 Temp. Reso #9120 September 5, 2000 Page 2 SECTION 2: That the request for a Platinum Sponsorship and the provision of the following inkind services to the Tamarac Chamber of Commerce for Tamarac Days on October 28 and 29, 2000 at the Tamarac Park location is HEREBY APPROVED. 1) Supply volunteers for the setup and breakdown of event. 2) Provision of two (2) City buses, with drivers, to transport people from parking to event area Saturday 10:00 a.m. — 9:00 p.m. and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. — 4:00 p.m. Chamber of Commerce to reimburse City for driver wages. 3) Supply fifty (50) traffic cones and fifty (50) barricades for use during event. SECTION 3: That all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict. SECTION 4: If any clause, section, other part of application of this Resolution is held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part or in application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portion or applications of this Resolution. SECTION 5: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon adoption. PASSED, ADOPTED AND APPROVED this 15th day of September, 2000.
