A RESOLUTION APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE
APPROPRIATE CITY OFFICIALS TO EXECUTE A
CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY OF TAMARAC AND
LEIGH ROBINSON KERR & ASSOCIATES, INC. PER-
TAINING TO THE TAMARAC COMPREHENSIVE PLAN;
AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC,
FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That the City Council of the City of Tamarac
hereby approves a contract between the City of Tamarac and
Leigh Robinson Kerr & Associates, Inc., in the amount of
$4,500.00 to develop an updated Future Land Use Element , for
the City of Tamarac Comprehensive Plan in compliance with Rule
9J-5, Florida Department of Community Affairs and the Local
Government Comprehensive Planning Act, attached hereto and made
a part hereof as Exhibit "A".
SECTION 2: That the appropriate City officials are hereby
authorized to execute said contract.
SECTION 3: This Resolution shall become effective immedi-
ately upon its passage.

Dear Thelma,
10 Leigh Robinson Kerr & Associates, Inc. is pleased to present this Consultant
Services Contract for Professional Planning Services. We propose to develop
a Future Land Use Element for the City of Tamarac. This work will be done
in compliance with Rule 9J--5 Florida Department of Community Affairs and
the Local Government Comprehensive Planning Act. This work will also be
done in compliance with the Broward County Planning Council's request for
existing land use data to update the County Land Use Plan.

B. "he following natural resources will also be indicated on
the map:
1. Existing and planned well fields and cones of influences
2. Rivers, bays, lakes, floodplains and harbors, as
necessary.
3. Wetlands
4. Minerals and soils
C. Approxinate acreage and general range of density or intensity
of use shall also provide in a tabular form for the gross
land area included in each existing land use category.
D. Some of the above land use categories maybe combined where
deemed appropriate and approved by the Planning Department.
Also, if there are other land use categories which the City
desires, these also will be included.
E. The existing map will also include the following:
1. Generalized land uses of land adjacent to the City's
boundaries and unincorporated enclaves where
appropriate.
2. Identify any areas that fall within a designated area
of critical state concern.
F. Population projections will be those provided by the
University of Florida or the Governor's office.

Part II - Land Use Anal sis Recruirements
A. Analysis of the availability of the facilities and
services as identified in the existing traffic
circulation and sanitary sewer, soilid waste, drainage,
potable water and natural groundwater aquifer recharge
elements, to serve existing land uses included in the
data requirements above and land for which development
orders have been issued.
B. An analysis of the character and magnitude of existing
vacant or undeveloped land in order to determine its
suitability for use, including the following:
I. Gross vacant or undeveloped land area.
2. Soils
3. Topography
4. Natural resources
5. Historic resources
C. An analysis of the amount of land needed to accommodate
the projected population, including the following:
I. Categories of land use and their densities or
intensities.
2. Estimated gross acreage needed by category
D. An analysis of the need for redevelopment including the
following:
I. Renewal of blighted areas
2. Elimination or reduction of uses inconsistent with
the community's character and proposed future land
uses.
E. An analysis of the proposed development and redevelopment
of flood prone areas based upn a suitability determination
from Flood Insurance Rate Maps, Flood Hazard Boundary
• Maps, or other most accurate information available.

The entire contract will not exceed $4,500 and this will include the printing
of ten (10) copies of the completed document.

State and Local standards.
