RESOLUTION NO. R-88- 30
A RESOLUTION AWARDING A BID FOR ANNUAL
REQUIREMENT EXCAVATION AND REMOVAL OF LIME
SLUDGE, BID NO. 88-32; AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, bids were advertised in the Fort Lauderdale
News/Sun Sentinel, a newspaper of general circulation in
Broward County on August 10, 1988 and August 17, 1988; and
WHEREAS, bids were opened on August 31, 1988; and
WHEREAS, Lynn-Ro Construction, Inc., is the lowest fully
responsive and responsible bidder.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That the bid of Lynn-Ro Construction, Inc.,
in the amount of $25,000 for the first year for the Annual
Requirement Excavation and Removal of Lime Sludge, with funds
to be taken from Account #425-363-533-316, titled Sludge
Removal Expense, is HEREBY APPROVED.
SECTION 2: That if the City chooses to exercise its
option for the services of Lynn-Ro Construction, Inc., after
the first year, the following rates will be in effect:
2nd Year $27,000
3rd Year $30,000
SECTION 3: This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon adoption.

THE PRIMARY LIN=TION ON THE CONTRACTOR'S OPERATIONS WILL BE THAT THE SLUDGE
SHALL BE ALLOAM TO DRY PRIOR TO REMOVAL FROM THE SITE. SLUDGE PILES CREATED
FOR DRYING PURPOSES WILL NOT EXCEED SZXI'EEAT (16) FEET IN FIGHT AT ANY P03NT

THE CONTRACTOR'S BID SHALL INCLUDE INITIAL EXCAVATIONS TO PROVIDE THE TWELVE
(12) FOOT EM)CTIVE DEPTH OF WATER AS DEFINED ABOVE AND FINAL OPERATIONS SO
THAT A NIPIE (9) FOOT MIlTM M EFFECTIVE DEPTH CF WATER EXISTS AT THE END OF
THE CONTRACT. BIDS SHALL BE ON AN ANNUAL BA SIS AND PAYMENTS T= BE MADE
QUARTERLY IN -THE AMOUNT OF 2 5 % OF THE ANNUAL PRICE. SUMECT To APPROVAL BY
THE DIRECTOR OF UTILITIES OR HIS DESIGNEE. OPERATIONS TD BEGIN ON THE FOURTH
QUARTER, NAMELY IN OCTOBER 1988 UPON APPROVAL OF THE CITY COUNCIL. THE

The successful Bidder shall provide suitable evidence of
compliance with the following insurability requirements:
1. Workers' Compensation not less than
$100,000/accident.
2. Comprehensive General Liability Insurance
$1,000,000 minimum.
3. Automobile Liability Insurance
$1,000,000 minimum.
4. Certificates of Insurance
The City of Tamarac is to be specifically included as
a named insured (excluding Workers' Compensation).
In the event the insurance coverage expires prior to
the completion of the project, a renewal certificate
shall be issued thirty (30) days prior to said
expiration date.
The policy shall provide a 30-day notification clause
in the event of cancellation or modification to the
policy.
All certificates of insurance must be on file with
and approved by the City Risk Manager before the
commencement of any work activity within or for the
Utility.
