CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R-86-� I
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
TAKE ALL NECESSARY STEPS TO ENSURE THE
CONSTRUCTION OF A MUNICIPAL POLICE STATION;
AND FR_QVM1M__AX_EFFECT1VE DATE,
WHEREAS, a majority of the electorate for the City of
Tamarac on November 4, 1986, voted to maintain the Tamarac
Police Department; and
WHEREAS, March 13, 1984 a majority of the electors
approved a bond issue in amount not to exceed eight million
dollars ($8,000,000) in order to construct a municipal City
Hall and Police Station; and
WHEREAS, the majority of the electorate on March 13,
1984 voted that the City Hall and Police Station shall be
located on the west side of Northwest 88th Avenue in the 7500
block on a tract of land consisting of 14.52 acres, owned by
the City, located just north of the Tamarac Fire Station; and
WHEREAS, further issuance and sale of General Obligation
Bonds in the amount of five million five hundred and twenty
thousand dollars ($5,520,000) for a City Hall project was
approved by the City Council by Resolution No. R-86-262,
passed and adopted by the City Council on July 23, 1986; and
WHEREAS, the City Council, is desirous to authorize the
issuance and sale of General Obligation Bonds for the
remaining amount available in order to construct a new Police
Station pursuant to the above -cited referendums.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That the City Manager for the City of
Tamarac shall take all necessary steps to ensure the prompt
construction of a police station on the site of the new City
Hall.
&9BCT1QN 2: That the City Manager should ensure that all
items that require Council approval for the construction of
the Police Station, including all appropriate Resolutions for
me

the issuance of the General Obligation Bonds pertaining
thereto are immediately and properly brought before the City
Council for approval.
SECTION_3: That it is the intent of the City Council of
the City of Tamarac that the City's Police Department have a
modern and adequate facility.
$ECT ON 4: This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon its passage.
