RESOLUTION NO. R-86-.40 V-
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, OBJECTING TO THE CREA-
TION OF STATE ROAD 7 (U.S. 441) AS A TOLL
ROAD BETWEEN NORTH OF HOLMBERG ROAD AND
BROWARD/PALM BEACH COUNTY LINE; DIRECTING THE
CITY CLERK TO SEND A COPY HEREOF TO THE
APPROPRIATE STATE AND COUNTY OFFICIALS; AND
DATE
WHEREAS, the Broward County Expressway Authority is
requesting the Florida Department of Transportation to delay
the awarding of a contract on State Road 7 (U.S. 441) from
North of Holmberg Road to the Broward/Palm Beach County line;
and
WHEREAS, the Federal and State Department of Transpor-
tation requires the improving of designated major arterial
highways through a gasoline tax; and
WHEREAS, such a toll restriction would put an unfair and
financial hardship on the citizens in Broward/Palm Beach
County.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION____1: That the City Council of the City of
Tamarac, Florida, hereby objects to the creation of State
Road 7 (U.S. 441) as a toll road between North of Holmberg to
the Broward/Palm Beach County line.
S-ECTIQN 2: That the City Council of the City of
Tamarac, Florida, urges the State of Florida Department of
Transportation to proceed without delay in awarding the
contract for (U.S. 441) on State Road 7, from North of
Holmberg Road to the Broward/Palm Beach County line.
SECTION : That the City Clerk is hereby directed to
forward a copy hereof to the appropriate State and County
officials.
SECTION 4: This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon its passage.
