CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R-83-
A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING A RATE OF
COMPENSATION FOR POLICE OFF -DUTY
DETAIL WORK.
WHEREAS, Article 33 of the Agreement between the City of Tamarac
and Florida State Lodge Fraternal Order of Police provides off -duty
details will be administered by the City, and
WHEREAS, the referenced article further provides that the City
will collect from the detail employer a sum of not less than Twelve
($12.00) Dollars per hour, and will pay to the appropriate officer
that hourly rate less deductions for Federal Withholding Taxes and
Federal Social Security Taxes, and
WHEREAS, the City in consideration of the additional cost
generated by the administration of this activity, is entitled to
compensation for its administrative overhead, and
WHEREAS, the Finance Director has studied the cost to the City
and surveyed similar programs in effect in other agencies, and has
recommended an administrative charge of additional Three ($3.00)
Dollars per hour be collected from the detail employer.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That the City shall charge to a detail employer
a total rate of Fifteen ($15.00) Dollars per hour.
SECTION 2: From the total hourly rate of Fifteen ($15.00)
Dollars, the City shall be compensated at a rate of Three ($3.00)
Dollars per hour, and the appropriate officer shall be compensated
at the rate of Twelve ($12.00) Dollars per hour, less all deductions
for Federal Withholding Taxes and Federal Social Security Taxes.
SECTION 3: This Resolution shall become effective January 1,
1983.
