CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R-2021
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, URGING RESIDENTS
AND BUSINESSES OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC TO
CONTINUE SAFE AND CLEAN INITIATIVES IN THE
FIGHT AGAINST COVID-19; PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, in support of Broward County's hospitality industry and
business community, Visit Lauderdale launched the "Safe and Clean" pledge in
mid-2020, in collaboration with the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance, the Florida
Restaurant & Lodging Association, and the Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber of
• Commerce, which encouraged businesses to adopt safe and clean protocols to
instill confidence among residents and travelers especially during the Covid-19
pandemic; and
WHEREAS, the Initiative included a pledge to follow CDC cleaning
protocols, wear masks, provide hand sanitizer, practice social distancing, training
staff, and working toward contactless payments; and
WHEREAS, as the Covid-19 vaccine reaches more of the country's
population, the restrictions on businesses are being lifted and protocol
requirements are being relaxed; and
WHEREAS, Covid -19 is still a threat to our residents and to the viability of
businesses as new variants are erupting across the State and the country; and

WHEREAS, the City of Tamarac would like to urge and encourage its •
residents and businesses to remain vigilant in continuing to follow CDC guidelines
relating to cleaning protocols, wearing masks, using hand sanitizer, and practicing
social distancing.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, THAT:
SECTION 1: The foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and
confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this
Resolution.
SECTION 2: The City Commission of the City of Tamarac hereby urges its
residents and businesses to remain vigilant in the fight against Covid-19 by
continuing to follow the Safe and Clean Initiative, which includes CDC guidelines
relating to cleaning protocols, wearing masks, using hand sanitizer, and practicing
social distancing.

SECTION 3: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon
adoption.
