HomeMy WebLinkAbout2021-04-28 - City Commission Workshop Meeting Minutes• City of Tamarac Virtual City Commission Workshop - Minutes Wednesday, April 28, 2021 CALL TO ORDER: Mayor Gomez called the Wednesday, April 28, 2021, Virtual City Commission Workshop to order at 6 p.m. ROLL CALL: Commissioner Marlon Bolton, Commissioner Mike Gelin, Commissioner Debra Placko, Vice Mayor Elvin Villalobos, and Mayor Michelle J. Gomez were present virtually. Also present were City Manager Michael C. Cemech, City Attorney Hans Ottinot, and City Clerk Jennifer Johnson. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: Mayor Gomez led the Pledge of Allegiance. Update — Buffer Walls John Doherty, Assistant Director of Public Services introduced Jeff Crews, Principal of Stantec. Crews and Jack Strain, Public Services Director, provided a presentation, which is on file in the City Clerk's Office. Discussion by the Commission ensued related to unforeseen construction issues, resident engagement prior to project start, resident or HOA permission, and procedure for getting projects considered, etc. 2. Update — Public Art Committee Maxine Calloway, Director of Community Development, introduced George Gadson and Beth Ravitz, the city's Public Art Consultants. Gadson and Ravitz provided a presentation, which is on file in the City Clerk's Office.
