Virtual City Commission Workshop - Minutes
Wednesday, May 12, 2021
CALL TO ORDER: Mayor Gomez called the Wednesday, May 12, 2021, Virtual City
Commission Workshop to order at 5 p.m.
ROLL CALL: Commissioner Marlon Bolton, Commissioner Mike Gelin, Commissioner Debra
Placko, and Mayor Michelle J. Gomez were present virtually. Vice Mayor Elvin Villalobos
arrived virtually at 5:06 p.m.
Also present were City Manager Michael C. Cemech, City Attorney Hans Ottinot, and City Clerk
Jennifer Johnson.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: Commissioner Bolton led the Pledge of Allegiance.
1. Update — Capital Project
City Manager Michael C. Cemech provided an overview of the presentation. Assistant
City Manager Kathleen Gunn, Director of Financial Services, Purchasing and Contracts
Manager Keith Glatz, Director of Public Services Jack Strain, and Budget Manager Jeff
Streder each provided a portion of the presentation, which is on file in the City Clerk's
• Office.
Discussion by the Commission ensued with questions related to the recent purchase of
the church property, the RFP process for Colony West, if the city has ever used PPP
[Public, Private Partnership] as a funding option for projects, and the number of times a
piggyback has been used for a project.
Mayor Gomez adjourned the meeting at 5:39 p.m.
