Special Meeting "Shade Session"
Wednesday, January 12, 2022
CALL TO ORDER:
Mayor Gomez called the Special City Commission meeting, being held in Conference Room 105,
at City Hall, to order at 6:00 p.m.
ROLL CALL:
Present were, Mayor Michelle J. Gomez, Vice Mayor Mike Gelin, Commissioner Marlon Bolton,
and Commissioner Elvin Villalobos were present. Commissioner Debra Placko was absent.
Also present were, City Manager Kathleen Gunn, City Attorney John Herin, and Special Counsel
for the City, Robert Soloff and City Clerk Jennifer Johnson.
1. Purpose:
City Attorney Herin stated the City Commission would be having an attorney -client session on
Wednesday, January 12, 2022, at 6:07 p.m. under the provisions of Section 447.605(1) of the
Florida Statute regarding the following:
Labor Negotiations, Collective Bargaining
The following persons will attend the attorney -client session, one or more whom may participate
remotely.
• Mayor, Michelle Gomez
• Vice Mayor, Mike Gelin
• Commissioner Marlon Bolton
• Commissioner Elvin Villalobos
• City Manager, Kathleen Gunn
• Director of Human Resources, Lerenzo Calhoun
• Director of Financial Services, Christine Cajuste
• Special Counsel for the City, Robert Soloff
The length of the Attorney -Client Session will be approximately 30 minutes to 1-hour.
2. Executive Session:
City Attorney Herin stated we would now close the public meeting. All those whose name was not
called must leave the Conference Room, and the attorney -client session will commence at 6:09
p.m.
City Clerk Johnson departed the meeting, and the Special Meeting "Closed Session" commenced.
At the conclusion of the executive session, City Clerk Johnson returned at 6:36 p.m.
3. Adjournment
There being nothing further to discuss, Mayor Gomez promptly adjourned the meeting at 6:36 p.m.
