CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R-2022-
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, APPOINTING
PHIL FORSBERG AS THE 5T" MEMBER TRUSTEE
TO THE POLICE PENSION BOARD TO SERVE A
FOUR-YEAR TERM ENDING MARCH 9, 2026, OR
UNTIL SUCH TIME NEW APPOINTMENTS ARE
MADE; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS;
PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Section 16-571 of the Tamarac Code provides for membership of the
Police Pension Board; and
WHEREAS, under Section 16-571(a) of the City of Tamarac Code, the Police
Pension Plan shall be administered by five (5) trustees.
WHEREAS, under Section 16-571(a)(3), one (1) trustee shall be elected by the
other four Trustees on the Board and appointed as a ministerial act by the City
Commission; and
WHEREAS, Phil Forsberg was appointed as the 5th member Trustee on May 13,
2020, and his term expired February 19, 2022, and
WHEREAS, under Section 16-571(a)(4), each trustee made succeed himself or
herself in office and may also serve on other city boards including the firefighter and/or
the general employee pension plans; and
WHEREAS, on February 16, 2022, the members of the Police Pension Board
present approved appointing Phil Forsberg as their 5th Member Trustee, to serve a four-

year term, which shall expire March 9, 2026, or until such time a new appointment is
made; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida, deems it to be
in the best interest of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to confirm the
appointment of Phil Forsberg as the 5th Member Trustee to the Police Pension Board.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: The foregoing WHEREAS clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed
as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution.
SECTION 2: That pursuant to Section 16-571 of the Tamarac Code, hereby
confirms the appointment of Phil Forsberg as 5th Member Trustee for the Tamarac Police
Pension Board to serve a four-year term ending March 9, 2026, or until such time as new
appointments are made.
SECTION 3: All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 4: If any clause, section, other part or application of this Resolution is
held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part or
application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions or applications of this
Resolution.

SECTION 5: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon adoption.
