CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R-2022- i37
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, ELECTING A
VICE MAYOR TO SERVE A TERM OF ONE YEAR
BEGINNING DECEMBER 14, 2022 AND ENDING
NOVEMBER 2023, WITH NO SUCCESSION;
PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR
SCRIVENER ERRORS, SEVERABILITY; AND
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Section 4.03 of the Tamarac City Charter provides in pertinent
part; "Beginning November 2008, and each November thereafter, no earlier than
the third Tuesday, a majority of the commissioners shall elect a Vice Mayor", and
WHEREAS, Section 4.03 of the Tamarac City Charter further provides that
"The Vice Mayor shall serve a term of one year and shall not serve successive
one-year terms."; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA THAT:
Section 1. Section 1. The foregoing whereas clauses are true and
correct and hereby adopted as the legislative and administrative findings of the
City Commission and made a specific part of this Resolution; all exhibits attached
hereto are incorporated herein and made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2. Commissioner Marlon Bolton is elected to serve as Vice
Mayor, for a term beginning December 14, 2022, and ending November 2023 with
no succession.

Section 3. All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are
hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
Section 4. Any scrivener or typographical errors that do not affect intent
of this Resolution may be corrected with notice to and authorization of the City
Attorney and City Manager without further process.
Section 5. If any clause, section, other part, or application of this
Resolution is held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or
invalid, in part or application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions
or applications of this Resolution.

Section 6. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon adoption.
PASSED, ADOPTED AND APPROVED this 141h day of December, 2022.
