A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, AWARDING BID 23-16B
TO VCLOUD TECH INC., AND APPROVING THE
PURCHASE OF FOUR (4) DELL POWEREDGE
SERVERS, TO BE PURCHASED THROUGH VCLOUD
TECH INC., FOR A TOTAL PURCHASE COST OF
$109,378.48; AUTHORIZING EXPENDITURES FROM
THE APPROPRIATE ACCOUNTS; PROVIDING FOR
CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR SCRIVENER ERRORS;
PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING
FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Florida Statutes provide that municipalities shall have the
governmental, corporate, and proprietary powers to enable them to conduct municipal
government, perform municipal functions, and render municipal service, and exercise any
power for municipal purposes, except when expressly prohibited by law; and
WHEREAS, Article IV, Section 4.07 of the City Charter of the City of Tamarac
("City") empowers the City to adopt, amend, or repeal such ordinances and resolutions
as may be required for the proper governing of the City; and
WHEREAS, technology is one of the key components in the efficient delivery of
City services, and the City's server infrastructure is critical to ensuring continued
operations; and
WHEREAS, the City's existing Cisco server infrastructure that was purchased in
2017, is at the end of its lifecycle, and replacement is necessary to support continued
operations and to alleviate issues related to increasing use and performance
requirements; and

WHEREAS, on January 3, 2023, the City issued Bid 23-16B, requesting quotes for
four (4) new Dell PowerEdge Servers; and
WHEREAS, thirteen (13) responses / quotes were received, one of which was
withdrawn, and the quote from vCloud Tech Inc. was deemed the lowest responsible and
responsive quote for the required Dell PowerEdge Servers; and
WHEREAS, funding is available in Information Technology Capital Maintenance
Program (CMP) Budget for this purchase; and
WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the Interim Director of Information
Technology and the Purchasing and Contracts Manager that the City Commission award
Bid 23-16B to vCloud Tech Inc., and to approve the purchase of four (4) Dell PowerEdge
Servers, to be purchased through vCloud Tech Inc., for a total purchase cost of $109,378.48;
and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida deems it to be in
the best interest of the business owners, residents, and visitors of the City of Tamarac to
award Bid 23-16B to vCloud Tech Inc., and to approve the purchase of four (4) Dell
PowerEdge Servers, to be purchased through vCloud Tech Inc., for a total purchase cost of
$109,378.48.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
TAMARAC, FLORIDA THAT. -
Section 1. The foregoing recitals are true and correct and hereby adopted as
the legislative and administrative findings of the City Commission; all exhibits attached
hereto are incorporated herein and made a specific part of this Resolution.

Section 2. The City Commission awards Bid 23-16B to vCloud Tech Inc. and
approves the purchase of four (4) Dell PowerEdge Servers, to be purchased through vCloud
Tech Inc., for a total purchase cost of $109,378.48-1 and, authorizes the appropriate City
Officials to execute a Purchase Order for the purchase of the four (4) Dell PowerEdge
Servers from vCloud Tech Inc., for a purchase cost of $109,378.48.
Section 3. Funding is available for the purchase of the four (4) Dell PowerEdge
Servers from the appropriate accounts for a total cost not to exceed $109,378.48.
Section 4. All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed to the extent of such conflict.
Section 5. Any scrivener or typographical errors that do not affect intent of this
Resolution may be corrected with notice to and authorization of the City Attorney and City
Manager without further process.
Section 6. If any clause, section, other part, or application of this Resolution is
held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part or
application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions or applications of this
Resolution.

Section 7. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon adoption.
