CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R-2023 - O 3 (o
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, APPOINTING
ONE (1) TO THE PUBLIC ART COMMITTEE AND
ONE (2) TO THE PARKS & RECREATION BOARD
TO SERVE A TERM CONCURRENT WITH THE
APPOINTING COMMISSION MEMBER, OR UNTIL
SUCH TIME AS NEW APPOINTMENTS ARE
MADE; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS;
PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Commission is desirous of appointing members to the
Parks and Recreation Board and Public Art Committee; and
WHEREAS, Carl Williams is no longer a member of the Parks and
Recreation Board effective March 2021, Carl Apollon is no longer a member of the
Parks and Recreation Board effective December 2022, and Alexandra Hernandez
is no longer a member of Public Art Committee effective January 2023, resulting
in three (3) board vacancies ; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with §2-58 of the Tamarac Code, the City
Commission shall appoint qualified individuals to the respective positions ; and
WHEREAS, Patricia Parkin and Horatio Bryan has been identified to fill the
vacancy on the Parks and Recreation Board and Annette Ortega has been
identified to fill the vacancy on the Public Art Committee ; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, deems it to be in
the best interests of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to appoint

two (2) members to the Parks and Recreation Board and one (1) member Public
Art Committee, in accordance with the procedures set out in §2-58 of the Tamarac
Code.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA THAT:
SECTION 1: The foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and
confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this
Resolution. All exhibits attached hereto are incorporated herein and made a
specific part of this Resolution.
SECTION 2: That the following individual is hereby appointed to serve as
a members of the Parks and Recreations Board and the Planning Board; that is
concurrent with the appointing commission member, or until such time as new
appointments are made.

SECTION 3: All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are
hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 4: If any clause, section, other part or application of this
Resolution is held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or
invalid, in part or application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions
or applications of this Resolution.

SECTION 5: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon
adoption.
