RESOLUTION NO. R-2023 - 011((
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, AWARDING BID 23-18B
TO ZONES, LLC, AND APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF
A PURE STORAGE, STORAGE AREA NETWORK (SAN),
INCLUDING FIVE (5) YEARS OF MAINTENANCE AND
SUPPORT, TO BE PURCHASED THROUGH ZONES,
LLC, FOR A TOTAL PURCHASE COST OF $246,000.42;
AUTHORIZING EXPENDITURES FROM THE
APPROPRIATE ACCOUNTS; AUTHORIZING THE
APPROPRIATE CITY OFFICIALS TO APPROVE
RENEWAL OPTIONS; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS;
PROVIDING FOR SCRIVENER ERRORS; PROVIDING
FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Florida Statutes provide that municipalities shall have the
governmental, corporate, and proprietary powers to enable them to conduct municipal
government, perform municipal functions, and render municipal service, and exercise any
power for municipal purposes, except when expressly prohibited by law; and
WHEREAS, Article IV, Section 4.07 of the City Charter of the City of Tamarac
("City") empowers the City to adopt, amend, or repeal such ordinances and resolutions
as may be required for the proper governing of the City; and
WHEREAS, technology is one of the key components in the efficient delivery of
City services, and the City's storage infrastructure is critical to ensuring continued
operations; and
WHEREAS, the City's existing Dell EqualLogic storage infrastructure that was
purchased in 2017, is at the end of its lifecycle, and replacement is necessary to support

continued operations and to alleviate issues related to increasing storage use and
performance requirements; and
WHEREAS, on March 3, 2023, the City issued Bid 23-18B, on file with the City
Clerk's Office, requesting bids for the purchase of a new Pure Storage FlashArray C40R3-
ETH-288TB-240/48 Storage Area Network (SAN), including five (5) years maintenance
and support; and
WHEREAS, Bid 23-18B closed on March 28, 2023, and three (3) bids were
received, attached hereto as Exhibit 1, and the bid from Zones, LLC, was deemed the
lowest responsible and responsive bid for the required new Pure Storage FlashArray
C40R3-ETH-288TB-240/48 Storage Area Network (SAN), including five (5) years
maintenance and support; and
WHEREAS, funding is available in Information Technology Capital Maintenance
Program (CMP) Budget for this purchase; and
WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the Director of Information Technology
and the Purchasing and Contracts Manager that the City Commission award Bid 23-18B
to Zones, LLC, approve the purchase of a new Pure Storage FlashArray C40R3-ETH-
288TB-240/48 Storage Area Network (SAN) — which includes five (5) years of
maintenance and support — , to be purchased through Zones, LLC, for a total purchase
cost of $246,000.42, and that the appropriate City Officials also be authorized to approve
subsequent evergreen forever subscription (maintenance and support) renewal options;
and

WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida deems it to be in
the best interest of the business owners, residents, and visitors of the City of Tamarac to
award Bid 23-18B to Zones, LLC, approve the purchase of a new Pure Storage
FlashArray C40R3-ETH-288TB-240/48 Storage Area Network (SAN) — which includes
five (5) years of maintenance and support — , to be purchased through Zones, LLC, for a
total purchase cost of $246,000.42, and that the appropriate City Officials also be
authorized to approve subsequent evergreen forever subscription (maintenance and
support) renewal options.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
TAMARAC, FLORIDA THAT:
Section 1. The foregoing recitals are true and correct and hereby adopted as
the legislative and administrative findings of the City Commission; all exhibits attached
hereto are incorporated herein and made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2. The City Commission awards Bid 23-18B to Zones, LLC; approves
the purchase of a new Pure Storage FlashArray C40R3-ETH-288TB-240/48 Storage Area
Network (SAN) —which includes five (5) years of maintenance and support—, to be purchased
through Zones, LLC, for a total purchase cost of $246,000.42; authorizes the appropriate
City Officials to execute a Purchase Order for the purchase of a new Pure Storage
FlashArray C40R3-ETH-288TB-240/48 Storage Area Network (SAN) — which includes five
(5) years of maintenance and support — from Zones, LLC, for a total purchase cost of
$246,000.42; and authorizes the appropriate City Officials to approve subsequent evergreen
forever subscription (maintenance and support) renewal options.

Section 3. Funding is available for the purchase of a new Pure Storage
FlashArray C40R3-ETH-288TB-240/48 Storage Area Network (SAN), including five (5) years
of maintenance and support, from the appropriate accounts for a total cost not to exceed
$246,000.42.
Section 4. All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed to the extent of such conflict.
Section 5. Any scrivener or typographical errors that do not affect intent of this
Resolution may be corrected with notice to and authorization of the City Attorney and City
Manager without further process.
Section 6. If any clause, section, other part, or application of this Resolution is
held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part or
application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions or applications of this
Resolution.

Section 7. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon adoption.
