RESOLUTION NO. R-20cj3- 070
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, APPROVING
THE APPOINTMENTS OF ONE (1) INDIVIDUAL
TO THE SISTER CITIES COMMITTEE BY
DISTRICT 1 COMMISSIONER AND ONE (1)
INDIVIDUAL TO THE PARKS & RECREATION
BOARD BY DISTRICT 4 COMMISSIONER TO
SERVE A TERM CONCURRENT WITH THE
APPOINTING COMMISSION MEMBER, OR UNTIL
SUCH TIME AS NEW APPOINTMENTS ARE
MADE; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS;
PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Commission is desirous of appointing members to the
Sister Cities Committee and Parks and Recreation Advisory Board; and
WHEREAS, Patricia Parkin is no longer a member of the Sister Cities
Committee effective April 2023, and Grellet Sainvilus is no longer a member of
Parks & Recreation Advisory Board effective June 2023, resulting in two (2) board
vacancies ; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with §2-58 of the Tamarac Code, the City
Commission shall appoint qualified individuals to the respective positions ; and
WHEREAS, Paquita Shani Louis has been identified to fill the vacancy on
the Sister Cities Committee and Debbie -Ann Flynn has been identified to fill the
vacancy on the Parks & Recreation Advisory Board ; and

WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, deems it to be in
the best interests of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to appoint
one (1) member to the Sister Cities Committee and one (1) member Parks &
Recreation Advisory Board, in accordance with the procedures set out in §2-58 of
the Tamarac Code.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA THAT:
SECTION 1: The foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and
confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this
Resolution. All exhibits attached hereto are incorporated herein and made a
specific part of this Resolution.
SECTION 2: That the following individual is hereby appointed to serve as
a members of the Parks and Recreations Board and the Planning Board; that is
concurrent with the appointing commission member, or until such time as new
appointments are made.

SECTION 3: All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are
hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 4: If any clause, section, other part or application of this
Resolution is held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or

invalid, in part or application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions
or applications of this Resolution.
SECTION 5: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon
adoption.
