WHEREAS, on October 11,2011, the Board of County Commissioners of Broward County, Florida, adopted Ordinanoe No. 2011-19 (the "Code of Ethics"), u/hich implemented a Code of Ethics for elected municipal officials; and WHEREAS, the Code of Ethics estrablishes certain conditions and disdosure obligations on elected officials wtro engage in fundraising on behalf of cfraritable organizations; and WHEREAS, Section 1-19(CX5)(AX4) of the Code of Ethics provides that the additional obligations shall not apply to an elected offcial who raises funds for those cfrarities and events wfiich are formally approved by elected official's municipality; and WHEREAS, on May 9,2012, the City Commission approved Resolution No. R-201261 adopting a list of entities with $,hich the City has formally approved relationships; and WHEREAS, on November 14,2012, the City Gommission approved Resolution No. R- 2012-125 amending Resolution R-201261 by adding to the list of clTaritable entities with whom the City of Tamarac recognizes a formally approved relationship; and WHEREAS, on January 13, 2}16,the CityCommission approved Resolution No. R-2016- 10 amending Resolution R-2012€1 by adding and deleting ftom the list of ctaritable entities with whom the City of Tamarac recognizes a formally approved relationship; and T Ir TR # 13230 January 15,2019 Page 2 WHEREAS, on January 11,2017, fie City Commission approved Resolution No. R-2017- 02 amending Resolution R-2017-10 by adding and deleting from the list of charitable entities with wtro the City of Tamamc recognizes a formally approved relationship; and WHEREAS, or August23,2017, the Clty Commission approved Resolution No. R-2017- g1 arnending Resolution R-2017{l2 by adding and deleting from the list of charitable entities with wtro the City of Tamarac recognizes a formally approved relationship; and WHEREAS, on January 11,2018,the CityCommission approved Resolution No. R-2018' 08 amending Resolution R-2017-91 by adding to the list of charitable entities with wtto the City of Tamarac recognizes a formally approved relationship; and WHEREAS, on March 28,201A, the City Commission approved Resolution No. R-2018- 30 arnending Resolution R-201&08 by adding to the list of charitable entities with who the City of Tamamc recognizes a formally approved relationship; and WHEREAS, the City of Tamarac has a ricfr history of furmally approving charitable organizations within the community and seels to amend the previously adopEd list of entities with wtrich the City of Tamarac has a furmally approved relationshipwith to indudethose entities listed in Amended FJfiibit'A", athcfred hereto and incorporated herein, as may be amended from time to time, to ensure compliance with the Gode of Ethics; and WHEREASi, the City Commission finds that the furmally approved charities and events organized by and prornoted by those entities listed on Amended Efiibit "A" is in the best interest of the health, safety, and vrrelfare of the residents and citizens of the City of Tamarac; and WHEREAS, the City Gommission deems it beneficialto amend Resolution No. R-2018- 30 to include the entities listed in Amended Exhibit'ff. tr tLJ The remainder of this page is intentionally left blank. The foregoing 'WHERtrAS" clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed as being tue and conect and are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution upon adoption hereof. All Exhibits attached hereto are incorporated herein and made a specific part hereof. Sestion 2. The City Commission of the Gity of Tamarac, Florida, hereby amends Resolution No. R-201&30 to hereby amend the City of Tamarac's list of entities with which it has a formally approved relationship to indude those entities listed in Amended Exhibat "A' attached hereto and incorporated herein, as may be amended trom time to time, for the expressed purpose of ensuring compliance with Section 1-19(C)(5XAX4) of the Code of Ethics for elected municipal officials. Section 3. Al! resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict. Section 4. lf any clause, section, other part or application of this Resolution is held by any court of mmpetent jurisdiction to be unconstih.rtional or invalid, in part or application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions or applications of this Resolution.
