HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity of Tamarac Ordinance O-1971-006CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA ORDINANCE # 71 AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING CERTAIN LANDS TO THE CITY OF TAMARAC, REDEFINING THE BOUNDARY LINES OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC SO AS TO INCLUDE THEREIN THE HEREIN ANNEXED LANDS: REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH: PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE. WHEREAS, the hereinafter described lands are contiguous to the present boundaries of the City of Tamarc, and WHEREAS, said lands contain less than ten registered voters, and WHEREAS, the owners of said lands have petitioned the City of Tamarac to intergrate said lands into the City, and WHEREAS, the City Council has previously, by Ordinance, declared its intent to annex said lands, and WHEREAS, the City Council has previously instructed the City Clerk and the City Clerk has advertised the intent of the Council to annex said lands at least thirty days prior to the passage of this Ordinance, and WHEREAS, the City of Tamarac is empowered to annex said lands by its Charter. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINDED BY THE COUNCIL.OF THE City of Tamarac, Florida: SECTION 1: The following described lands, be and the same are hereby annexed to the City of Tamarac: All of Tracts 5 and 12 of FORT LAUDERDALE TRUCK FARMS SUBDIVISION of Section 3, Township 49 South, Range 41 East; as recorded in Plat Book 4, Page 31 of the Public Records of Broward County, Florida, Less the North 2590 Feet thereof, as measured along the West lane of said Section 3 of that portion lying within the West 353 feet of said Section 3. SECTION 2: That the boundary lines and the corporate limits of the City of Tamarac are hereby redefined to include the aforedescribed lands. SECTION 3: The City Clerk is hereby instructed to cause a certified copy of this Ordinance of annexation to the City ar, 1-1 of Tamarac to be filed with the Clerk of the Circuit Court in and for Broward County, Florida. SECTION 4: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict. SECTION 5: Should any section or provision of this ordinance or any portion hereof, or any paragraph, sentence or word be declared by a Court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, such decision shall not affect the validity of the remainder hereof as a whole or any part hereof, other than the part declared to be invalid.
