ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 3--63 of THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, SO AS TO ADOPT BY REFERENCE
CHAPTER 316, FLORIDA STATUTES, INN AS THE
"FLORIDA UNIFORM TRAFFIC CONTROL LAW," CREATED BY
71-135, ADOPTED BY THE FLORIDA LEGISLATURE,
1971 SESSION, AND EFFECTIVE ON JANUARY 1, 1972;
PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR VIOLATION OF CHAPTER;
REPEALING ALL LAWS IN CONFLICT; AND PRMDING AN
EE`FECTIVE ' DATE
;%MEREAS, in Ordinance No. 3-63 of the City of Tamarac, the
Council of the City of Tamarac adopted by reference all of the
�:.-isions of Chapter 186, FLORIDA STATUTES, being the Florida
del Traffic Ordinance, and
w=AS, the Florida Legislature, at its 1971 regular session,
used Chapter 71-135, repealing Chapters 186 and 317 of the Florida
-Statutes, and creating a new Chapter 316, FLORIDA STATES, to be
,:-r-1.•n as the "Florida Uniform Traffic Control Law," regulating the
--ram: aTent of all vehicular, all pedestrian and all other traffic
the streets and highways and elsewhere throughout the state,

WHEREAS, said Chapter 71-135 requires that Chapter 316, FLORIDA
STATUTES, be effective in all municipalities within the state as
of Janurary 1, 1972,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1; That Ordinance No. 3-63 of the City of Tamarac be
and the same is hereby repealed effective January 1, 1972.
SECTION 2: That the City of Tamarac hereby adopts by reference
all of the provisions of Chapter 316, FLORIDA STATUTES, known as the
'Florida Uniform Traffic Control Law,' regulating the movement of
all vehicular, all pedestrian and all other traffic upon the streets
and highways and elsewhere throughout the state where the public
might have a right to travel; providing definitions; providing
for the respective powers of state and local authorities in the control
of traffic upon the streets and highways; establishing the enforce-
ment of jurisdictions of traffic laws; establishing the rules of
road to be applicable.throughout the state; establishing a
-1�adard of equipment of vehicles throughout the state; and pre--
:-,,,= bing penalties for violation.
SECTION 3. Penalties for violation of chapter.
Unless otherwise provide herein, every person who violates or
-ails to ccmply with.any provision of this chapter shall be fined
not in excess of five hundred dollars or imprisoned for a period
cf not more than sixty day sfor each offense, in the discretion of
.he city judge.
SECTION 4: Should any section or provision of this Ordinance
or any portion thereof, or any paragraph, sentence or word be
declared by a court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, such
decision shall not affect the validity of the reminder hereof as
a whole or any part hereof, other than the part declared to be
invalid,
SECTION 5: This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
immediately upon its final passage.
