CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
ORDINANCE NO._ 1_2.- +
AN ORDINANCE REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 70-40
RELATING TO SEWER RATES FOR CUSTOMERS SERV-
ICED BY THE CITY OF TAMARAC SEWERAGE PLANT;
AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 71-1 BY ESTABLISHING
SEWER RATES FOR CUSTOMERS SERVICED BY THE
CITY OF TAMARAC SEWERAGE PLANT AND BY ESTAB-
LISHING RATES FOR COMMERCIAL SERVICE HOTELS,
MOTELS? TRAILER PARKS? PUBLIC SCHOOL AND
HOSPITALS; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CON-
FLICT; PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE; AND, PRO-
VIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that it is inequitable
to continue charging higher rates for sewer services for
residential customers served by the City of Tamarac sewer
plant than those charged customers served by the Tamarac
Utilities, Inc. facility, and
WHEREAS, the City Council deems it desirable that the
equalization of such rates be implemented, as soon as pos-
sible,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SFCTTON 1: Ordinance No. 70-40 of the City of Tamarac
is hereby specifically repealed in its entirety.
SECTION 2: Ordinance No. 71-1 of the City of Tamarac
is hereby amended by striking Section 9 thereof and by sub-
stituting therefore the following:
"SECTION 9: Sewer charges for consumers receiving
water in the areas serviced by Tamarac Utilities, Inc.
and for those consumers serviced by the City of Tamarac
sewerage plant, shall be pursuant to the following rates:
(a) For residential Unit containing 1 bath - $3.50 per month
(b) For residential Unit containing 2 baths- $4.50 per month
(c) For residential Unit containing 3 baths- $5.50 per month
(d) For residential Unit containing 4 baths- $5.50 per month
(e) For residential Unit containing 5 baths- $7.50 per month

(f) For mu.ni.cipal and commercial service (unless
otherwise specified) the charge shall be equal
to 100% of that month's water bill but not less
than $8.72 per month.
(g) For hotel, motel and trailer park service the
charge shall be $7.72 per unit per month.
(h) For public schools and hospitals service the
monthly charge shall be equal to 100% of that
m.onth's water bill.
Sewer charges as herein outlined shall only apply so
long as the individual user of said services is being billed
and purchasing said. services through the City of Tamarac and
not directly from Tamarac Utilities„ Inc."
SECTION 4: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such
conflict.
SECTION 5: Should any section or provision of this or-
dinance or any portion hereof, or any paragraph, sentence or
word be declared by a Court of competent jurisdiction to be
invalid, such decision shall not affect the validity of the
remainder hereof as a whole or any part hereof, other than
the part declared to be invalid.
SECTION 6: This Ordinance and the procedure and rates
outlined herein shall become effective on the 1st day of
February, 1972.
