ORDINANCE N0.
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 72-11 OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC BY PROVIDING REGULATIONS FOR,
LIMITATIONS ON AND PREREQUISITES TO THE POSTING
OF TEMPORARY ELECTION SIGNS; CONTAINING A SAVINGS
CLAUSE; AND, PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC,
FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That Section 2A of Ordinance No. 72-11 of the
City of Tamarac be amended by adding to Subsection 4. thereof
the following:
"(c) Election Signs.
(1) Election signs not exceeding sixteen square
feet in area. No such sign shall be erected in an area zoned for
single-family, two-family or row house use.
(2) Election signs, regardless of size, shall require
a posting of a fifty dollar bond with the city permitting up to
thirty signs to be erected. For each sign over thirty an addition-
al five dollars per sign shall be deposited. To assure the removal
of all signs of a candidate, all election signs must be removed
within seven days after date of a primary or general. election.
If not removed the bond deposited within the city shall be for-
feited and the city shall have the right to remove such signs
without incurring any liability for damage to such sign. No
election sign shall be erected for more than thirty days prior to
any election, primary or general, and shall be removed within seven
days after such election, primary or general."
SECTION 2: Should any section or provision of this Ordinance
or any portion thereof or any paragraph, word or sentence be
declared by a court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, such
decision shall, not affect the validity of the remainder hereof,
other than the part declared to be invalid.
SECTION 3: All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict
herewith be and the same are hereby repealed.
SECTION 4: This Ordinance shall become effective immediately
upon its final passage.
