CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE ADJUSTING THE BOUNDARIES OF THE
ELECTION DISTRICTS OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC;
DESCRIBING SUCH DISTRICTS; INCLUDING A MAP
OF SUCH DTSTRI:CTS; AND; CONTAINING AN EFF-
ECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Section 71 of the City Charter of the City of Tamarac
requires the Election Board to submit a plan for adjustment of the
Council District boundaries by the first day of September, 1972,
in Ordinance form, and
WHEREAS, the Election Board has submitted this Ordinance
inclusive of a map and description of the Distracts recommended,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE City
of Tamarac, Florida:
SECTION 1: That the Council District boundaries of the City
of Tamarac be adjusted to read as follows:
DISTRICT 1: All lands in the corporate limits of the
City of Tamarac lying East of the East right-of-way line of the
Sunshine State Parkway except Mainlands Section 3, Section 4,
Section 4-A, Section 4-B, Section 5 and Section 5-A.
DISTRICT 2: All lands in the corporate limits of the
City of Tamarac lying West of the East right-of-way line of the
Sunshine State Parkway and East of the East right -of --way line of
Rock Island Road; also all of Mainlands Section 3, Section 4,
Section 4-A, Section 4-B, Section 5 and Section S-A.
DISTRICT 3: All lands in the corporate limits of the
City of Tamarac lying West of the East right-of-way line of
Rock Island Road, and Last of the East right-of-way line of
University Drive and South of the North boundary line of Mainlands
Section 10, (extended Eastward to a point on Rock Island Road, if
and when annexed) .
DISTRICT 4: All lands in the corporate limits of the
City of Tamarac lying West of the East right-of-way line of Rack
Island Road except those lands included in District 3.
SECTION 2: That the map of the Districts attached hereto
and marked Exhibit "A" is hereby adopted as the official map of the
Council District Boundaries. Such map shall be amended from time
to time by Resolution upon recommendation of the Election Board
in the event of annexation prior to the next required re-
districting of the Council District boundaries.
SECTION 3: That the words "corporate limits'; as used in the
above descriptions, shall include land areas hereafter annexed
into the City of Tamarac.
SECTION 4: Should any section or provision of this Ordinance
or any portion thereof, or any paragraph, word or sentence be
declared by a court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid,
such decision shall not affect the validity of the remainder hereof,
other than the part declared to be invalid.
SECTION 5: All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict
herewith be and the same are hereby repealed.
SECTION 6: This Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage, but nothing herein shall prohibit any Councilman
from completing his term of office.
