CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
ORDINANCE NO. --
AN ORDINANCE DECLARING THE INTENT OF
THE CITY OF TAMARAC TO BE EXCLUDED FROM
REQUIREMENTS OF BROWARD COUNTY THAT THE
PUBLIC WATER SUPPLY SERVING THE CITY BE
FLUORIDATED; AND, CONTAINING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Broward
County, have indicated their intent to enact an Ordinance
requiring the fluoridation of public water supplies through-
out Broward County, and
WHEREAS, said Board has indicated that cities wishing
to be excluded from the effect of the ordinance shall in-
dicate such intent by ordinance, and
WHEREAS, the population of the City of Tamarac is
predominately adult and the alleged benefits of fluoridation
are limited to very young children,
NOW$ THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE
City of Tamarac, Florida:
SECTION 1: That the Board of County Commissioners
be requested to exclude the City of Tamarac from the
effect of the proposed ordinance requiring fluoridation
of public water supplies in Broward County.
SECTION 2: That this ordinance shall take effect
immediately upon its final passage.
