HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity of Tamarac Ordinance O-1974-035i 1 i 7 4-15 4 " 1 7 CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA ORDINANCE N0. —T+ — -3J5, AN ORDINANCE CORRECTING A SCRIVENERS ERROR IN THAT CERTAIN METES AND BOUNDS LEGAL DESCRIPTION FOR SHAKER VILLAGE PHASE I, AND ANNEXING CERTAIN LANDS CONTIGUOUS TO THE PRESENT BOUNDARIES OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC; RATIFIED BY THE REGISTERED ELECTORS OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC AND BY THE REGISTERED ELECTORS OF THE TERRITORY TO BE ANNEXED; PROVIDING FOR THE AMENDMENT OF THE OFFICIAL CITY MAP TO REFLECT THE CHANGES IN MUNICIPAL BOUNDARIES; AND, PROVID- ING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the lands described herein are contiguous to the present boundaries of the City of Tamarac, and WHEREAS, Section 5 of the City Charter provides a method for annex- ation, and WHEREAS, the City Council deemed it in the best interest of the City of Tamarac to integrate said lands into said City. WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 74-27 proposed annexation of certain territory subject to ratification by the registered electors of the City of Tamarac, and the registered electors of Shaker Village Phase I, at a referendum election on July 9, 1974, and. WHEREAS, prior to the said referendum election, it was brought to the attention of the City Council that there was a scriveners error in the legal description of annexation in said Ordinance No. 74-27, and WHEREAS, by resolution No. 74-53 the City Council did on July 8, 1974 declare its desire to correct said legal discrepancy and to incorporate said proper legal description in the final Ordinance annexing the aforesaid territory. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA: SECTION 1: The legal description of the land erroneously described in an attachment to the Ordinance No. 74-27, is hereby corrected by Exhibit A, which is attached hereto and made a part hereof. SECTION 2: On July 9, 1974 the majority of the registered electors of the City of Tamarac voting in such election and the majority of the registered electors of Shaker Village Phase I voting in such election, did vote to approve the annexation. ;Do M `n (,-) -n GO <`) ro rm C� SECTION 3: The said territory known as Shaker Village Phase I shall forthwith be and become part of the City of Tamarac. SECTION 4: The City map shall be changed to reflect the new boundaries of the City, such change to be initialed by the Mayor and the City Clerk. SECTION S: The City Council is directed to have this Ordinance recorded and to forward a copy to the Codifidr of the City's Ordinances and to advise those agencies which are effected.
