CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE ADJUSTING THE BOUNDARIES OF THE ELECTION DISTRICTS
OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC; DESCRIBING SAID DISTRICTS; INCLUDING A
MAP OF SAID DISTRICTS; AND, CONTAINING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Section 71 of the City Charter of the City of Tamarac requires
the Election Board to submit a plan for adjustment of the Council District
boundaries by the first day of September, 1974, in Ordinance form; and
WHEREAS, the Election Board has submitted this Ordinance inclusive of
a map and description of the Districts recommended; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That the Council District boundaries of the City of Tamarac
be adjusted to read as follows:
DISTRICT 1: All lands in the corporate limits of the City of Tamarac as
designated by Broward County as voting precincts numbered 14H, 14L, 14T
and 14F as more fully geographically described as lying east of the east
right of way line of the Sunshine State Parkway consisting of, but not
limited to, Tamarac sections -the Mainlands Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 4A and 5,
Treehouse, Boulevards, Tamarac Lakes North, Tamarac Lakes South, Tamarac
Lakes Section I and Tamarac Lakes Section 2.
DISTRICT 2: All lands in the corporate limits of the City of Tamarac as
designated by Broward County as voting precincts numbered 14Z, 14M,
excepting those lands within Tamarac Mainlands Section 8; 14W, excepting
those lands within Tamarac Mainlands 9; and consisting of, but not limited
to Tamarac Sections Mainlands Sections 7, 10, 14, 15, 16, and 17; Shaker
Village, Bermuda Club and Greenbrier.
DISTRICT 3: All lands in the corporate limits of the City of Tamarac as
designated by Broward County as voting precincts 14K; Mainlands Section 8
of precinct 14M and Mainlands Section 9 of precinct 14W consisting of
Tamarac sections commonly known as Tamarac Mainlands 6, 6A, 8 and 9, and
Woodlands.
DISTRICT 4: All lands in the corporate limits of the City of Tamarac as
designated by Broward County as voting precincts 14R and 14Y as more fully
geographically described as lying west of University Drive to include, but
not limited to, Tamarac Mainlands Section 11, 12, 13, 20, 21, 22, and 23
.plus those Tamarac sections lying east of University Drive more commonly
known as Heathgate, Sunflower, and Southgate Gardens.
SECTION 2: That the map of the Districts attached hereto and marked
Exhibit "A" is hereby adopted as the official map of the Council District
Boundaries. Such map shall be amended from time to time by Resolution
upon recommendation of the Election Board in the event of annexation prior
to the next required redistricting of the Council District boundaries.
SECTION 3: That the words "corporate limits", as used in the above
descriptions, shall include land areas hereafter annexed into the City of
Tamarac.
SECTION 4: Should any section or provision of this Ordinance or any
portion thereof, or any paragraph, word, or sentence be declared by a court
of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, such decision shall not affect the
validity of the remainder hereof, other than the part declared to be invalid.
SECTION 5: All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith
be and the same are hereby repealed.
SECTION 6: This Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its final
passage, but nothing herein shall prohibit any Councilman from completing his
term of office.

WHEREAS, this Ordinance was passed and enacted on
the 25th September, 1974 and there is no proof of publication,
this Ordinance is being re-enacted to provide for that publication
pursuant to Florida Statute No. 166.041.
