CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
ORDINANCE NO. , (.
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCES NO. 1-64, 72-6
and 73-60 KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCES OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, BY ALLOWING BINGO GAMES IN HOUSES
OF WORSHIP OR ATTENDANT BUILDINGS AND IN S-1 ZONING
DISTRICTS; PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE; REPEALING
ALL LAWS IN CONFLICT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Tamarac has
recommended to the City Council that under certain circumstances, it
would not be to the detriment of the public safety and morals to allow
bingo games in houses of worship and attendant buildings, and in S-1
zoning districts.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC,
FLORIDA:

SECTION 1: There is hereby created Section 17.2-1 of Ordinance
No. 73-60 which shall read as follows:
"SECTION 17.2-1: BINGO GAMES
In any S-1 zoned district and in Houses of Worship, bingo
games shall be permitted, provided however, said games shall be
subject to the restriction that no person conducting or assisting
in the operation of the bingo games shall receive any remuneration,
nor shall the facility be rented to the participants in the said game."
SECTION 2: Should any section or provision of this ordinance
or any portion hereof, or any paragraph, sentence or word be declared
by a Court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, such decision
shall not affect the validity of the remainder hereof as a whole
or any part hereof, other than the part declared to be invalid.
SECTION 3: All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 4: This Ordinance shall become effective immediately
upon its final passage.
