CITY OF TAMARAC , FLORIDA ORDINANCE NUMBER AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR STANDARDS FOR DESIGN OF IRRIGATION SYSTEM BY REQUIRING SUBMISSION OF PLANS FOR CONSTRUCTION; PROVISIONS FOR REVIEW, FEES FOR PERMITS, EXCEPTIONS; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE; and PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Tamarac is cognizant of the fact that poor sprinkler systems have been installed within the subdivisions of the City has resulted in poorirrigation for the laws thereon, and, WHEREAS, the City Council deems it necessary for the protection of the public welfare to establish standars for construction of irrigation systems, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Tamarac, Florida, SECTION I. No irrigation construction permit shall be issued until the applicant has submitted an irrigation plan in accordance with the requirements of this ordinance and paid the appropriate permit fees. SECTION II. The irrigation plan shall show the entire site to be irrigated along with the following: 1. Buildings and other site improvements. 2. Proposed finished grade. 3. Locations of proposed wells or connections to water source. 4. Sizes and locations of irrigation lines, valves and other appurtenances. 5. Legend showing proposed irrigation heads and their expected flow rates. 6. Certification by Professional Engineer designing the system. 7. Statement indicating if the engineer will be inspecting the construction, or if not, that he assumes no responsi- bility for the construction in accordance with the plans. SECTION III. Irrigation plans are required to be submitted for review and approval for all irrigation works. SECTION IV. Permits to install and repair irrigation systems are required, excepting repairs on existing systems by the property owner or repairs of existing systems which Ya ve been permitted under this ordinance, and whose estimated cost of repairs is less than $100.00. SECTION V. Permit Fees are hereby established as follows: 1. Home owner doing his own work 2. Contractor a. single family residences b. multi family development C. commercial, shopping centers d. golf courses and private parks e. miscellaneous not covered by items a-d $10.00 $10.00 $75.00 $50.00 $100.00 $5.00 per acre 3. Additional fees as established by Resolution #74-60: a. 26-C thereof --Sprinkler System Lawn Sprinkler hoop -up first 12 heads $11.00 each head over 12 .50 b. 37 thereof-- Motors each 0-5HP single phase $7.00 each 0-5HP three phase .$9.,00 each over 5-10HP $11.00 each over 10-25HP $15.00 each over 25HP $40.00 SECTION VI. Review of irrigation plans and approval thereof shall be made by the Chief Building Official or City Engineer prior to issuance of a permit to construct. Upon disapproval of an / irrigation plan, the applicant may appeal the decision of the admini- strative official to the City Council. SECTION VII. All irrigation wo rks, where a permit has been issued, and under construction on the date of final passage of this - 2 - Ordinance, and works under construction prior to the effective date of this Ordinance shall not fall under the jurisdiction of this Ordinance. SECTION VIII. All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby declared to be invalid. SECTION IX. Should any section or provision of this Ordinance or any portion thereof, or any paragraph, word or sentence be declared by a court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, such decision shall not effect the validity of the remainder hereof, other than the part declared to be invalid. .SECTION X.
