AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCES NO. 1-64,
72-6, and 73-60, KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORD-
INANCE OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, WHICH MAY
ALLOW SCHOOLS AS SPECIAL EXCEPTIONS IN ANY
RESIDENTIAL DISTRICTS EXCEPT SINGLE FAMILY
RESIDENTIAL DISTRICTS AND WHICH MAY ALLOW
DAY NURSERIES AS SPECIAL EXCEPTIONS IN ANY
RESIDENTIAL DISTRICT, B-1 NEIGHBORHOOD
BUSINESS CENTER DISTRICT, OR B-2 PLANNED
COMMUNITY BUSINESS DISTRICT; PROVIDING
A SAVINGS CLAUSE; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES
IN CONFLICT• PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission recommended to the
City Council that certain specific uses be allowed in residential
districts excepting single family residential districts by
special use exceptions; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has made additional recommenda-
tions to include by special use exception the use of day nurseries
in B-1 Neighborhood Business Center Districts and B-2 Planned
Community Business Dist.rica6.
NOW, THEREFORE, �•E lT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That Section 17.2 of Ordinances No. 1-64, 72-6
and 73-60 be amended to read as follows:
Section 17.2 SPECIAL EXCEPTIONS ENUMERATED
In any residential district except single family residential
districts: l
1. Public, private or parochial schools.
In any residential district except single family residential
districts, B-1 Neighborhood Business Center District or B-2
Planned Community Business District:
J1. Day nurseries which shall be defined as places for the
day care and instruction of children not remaining overnight;

provided however in no event shall a special exception be granted
wherein the property proposed as the site for a day nursery is
