CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
ORDINANCE NO. 7 5 / O
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE No. 19-69
AND ESTABLISHING NEW COURT COSTS FOR THE
MUNICIPAL COURT OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC.
WHEREAS, the City Council has been advised its Municipal
Court costs are not commensurate with the cost of operation
of the Municipal Court, and,
WHEREAS, the City Council deems it wise and expedient to
amend its court costs to defray the costs and expenses of the
operation and maintenance of the Municipal Court system,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: Court costs to be charged by the Municipal
Court of the City shall be in the sum of Ten Dollars ($10.00)
to be charged as a cost against each Defendant convicted in the
Municipal Court of the City. Any costs assessed by any
governmental agency shall be in excess of the charge designated
herein. Said charge shall be rendered against each Defendant
appearing and adjudicated guilty in the Municipal Court.
SECTION 2:
A penalty shall be assessed against those
Defendants who admit guilt to a traffic violation, do not pay
the fine, and fail to appear in Court on the scheduled date.
A late fee of $10 shall be added to the fine to cover additional
administrative costs.
SECTION 3: Should any section or provision of this
Ordinance or any portion thereof, or any paragraph, sentence
or word be declared by a court of competent jurisdiction to be
invalid, such decision shall not affect the validity of the
remainder hereof as a whole or any part hereof, other than
the part declared to be invalid.
SECTION 4: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith be and the same are hereby repealed.
