AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 7 OF THE TAMARAC CITY CODE BY ADDING (a) TO PRESENT NO. 7-19 AND ADDING SECTION 7-19 (b) REQUIRING CERTAIN PEOPLE, FIRMS, OR CORPORATIONS TO REGISTER AND OBTAIN AN IDENTIFICATION CARD WITH THE CITY OF TAMARAC FOR THE PURPOSE OF PERFORMING WORK WITHIN THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA AND SETTING FORTH A REQUIRED FEE, PENALTY, AND EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the citizens of the City of Tamarac that all licensed contractors be listed in a roster maintained by the Building Department; and WHEREAS, this can best be accomplished by preparing and maintaining a list of contractors performing work within the City of Tamarac; and WHEREAS, a proper identification card shall be issued; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA: SECTION 1: Any person, firm or corporation holding a valid license issued by any licensing board of the State of Florida, including but not limited to the Central Examining Board, Broward County, designated as a contractor or sub -contractor and in any of the various construction activities, perform his trade within the corporate limits of the City of Tamarac, shall be required to be listed with the Building Department of the City of Tamarac, Florida. SECTION 2. Contractors and Sub -contractors shall pay an annual registration fee of $25.00 for this privilege. 1 1 Journeymen shall pay an annual registration fee of $7.00. Journeyman's Helpers shall pay an annual registration fee of $3.00. SECTION 3. Penalties: Any person, firm and/or corporation found in violation of any provision of this Ordinance shall be fined in an amount not to exceed $100.00 or be imprisoned for a term not exceeding 30 days or both fine and imprisonment. Each violation shall constitute a separate offense. SECTION 4. If any Section, subsection, sentence, clause, phrase or portion of this Ordinance is, for any reason, held invalid or unconstitutional by any Court of competent jurisdiction, such portion shall be deemed a separate, distinct, and independent provision and such holding shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of this Ordinance. SECTION 5. This Ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its final passage by the City Council. PASSED FIRST READING this�day of ,1977.
