AN ORDINANCE AMENDING 0-75-43, SECTION 11,
PARAGRAPH 9, PROVIDING FOR CONSTRUCTION,
DESIGN AND LOCATION OF SIGNS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SECTION 1: That Ordinance #0-75-43, Section 11,
Paragraph 9, is hereby amended to read as follows:
"Section 11. Construction, Design and Location of Sims:
9. Whenever a new shopping center or office complex
occurs, then all wall signs or marquee signs permitted shall be
uniform in design, color, style and type of lettering and overall
maximum height per a designated sign criteria.
The owner or agent of such a new shopping center
or office complex shall submit the sign criteria to be followed,
to the Chief Building Official and. the Beautification Committee,
prior to any sign permits being processed through the Beautification
Committee.
No sign permits shall be .issued unless such criteria
is submitted and the sign permit requests are in conformance with
it.
In an existing shopping center or office complex,
prior to a sign permit application being processed through the
Beautification Committee, for a new or an altered sign, it shall
be required that the owner or agent of such a center or complex
submit a sign criteria to the Chief Building Official and the
Beautification Committee to be used in reviewing the new, and
subsequent, applications.
No sign permits shall be issued unless such criteria
is submitted and the sign permit requests are in conformance
with it."

SECTION 2: Should any section or provision of this
Ordinance or any portion thereof, or any paragraph, sentence or
word be declared by a court of competent jurisdiction to be
invalid, such decision shall not effect the validity of the
remainder hereof as a whole or any part hereof, other than the
part declared to be invalid..
SECTION 3: This Ordinance shall become effective
immediately upon its final passage.
