CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
ORDINANCE NO. Q " CP-
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1 OF ORDINANCE
76-19, PROVIDING FOR CREATION AND MEMBERSHIP
OF THE PUBLIC INFORMATION COMMITTEE; PRO-
VIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Section 4-10 of the Tamarac City Charter provides
that the Council, by ordinance, shall create a Public Information
Committee, consisting of one Council member, one Charter Board
member, and three members from the public, and
WHEREAS, on May 12, 1976, Council adopted Ordinance No.
0-76-19 establishing said Public Information Committee, and
WHEREAS, on March 14, 1978, the Electorate of the City
approved Charter Amendment #C-3 thereby establishing the need to
amend Ordinance No. 76-19, Section 1.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That Section 1 of Ordinance 76-19 is hereby
amended to read as follows:
Creation and Membership Committee. A Public Information
Committee is hereby created as a permanent agency of the City and
shall consist of one member of and designated by the Council, one
member of and designated by the Charter Board and at least three
(3) members designated by the Council from the general public. The
Council shall also designate two (2) alternate members from the
general public. The chairman of the committee shall be selected
by the committee from among the public members. The members shall
serve at the pleasure of Council and without compensation. The
committee shall promulgate its rules and order of procedure which
shall comply with all applicable laws.
SECTION 2: Savings Clause. Should any section or pro-
vision of this ordinance or any portion thereof, or any paragraph,
sentence or word be declared by a court of competent jurisdiction
to be invalid, such decision shall not affect the validity of the
remainder hereof as a whole or any part hereof other than the part
declared to be invalid.

SECTION 3:
Effective Date. This ordinance shall become
effective immediately upon its final passage.
