AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 2 OF TAMARAC
ORDINANCE NO. 77-24 WHICH AMENDED ARTICLE V

OF SECTION 6 OF THE TAMARAC CITY CODE PERTAINING
TO STANDARDS FOR FENCES, WALLS AND HEDGES ERECTED,

PLACED AND MAINTAINED IN THE CITY OF TAMARAC BY
INCREASING THE MAXIMUM HEIGHT PERMITTED FOR
6
FENCES "ALONG PROPERTY LINES: PROVIDING FOR
CODIFICATION; PROVIDING REPEALER; PROVIDING
7
FOR SEVERABILITY OF INVALID PROVISIONS; AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF TAMARAC,

FLORIDA: '

SECTION 1: Section 2 of Tamarac City Ordinance No.
12
77-24 amending Article V, Section 6, Residential Districts, of
13
the Tamarac City Code is hereby amended by deleting the words
14
indicated below in struck -through type, and by inserting the
15
new language i0 underscored type below as follows:

"CHAPTER 6

ARTICLE V

Residential Districts
19
(A) In all residential districts, fences, walls and hedges may
20
be erected to a maximum height of six (6) feet along the rear
21
property line except if the rear property line abuts a
22
commercially zoned property, then such maximum height permitted
23
shall be eight (8') feet. The maximum height permitted to be

installed er to rema4R along the side property line/shall be
25
six (6,') feet. The maximum height permitted to be installed
26
along the front street setback line shall be four (4') feet.

No fences, walls or hedges shall be installed or be permitted
28
to remain in required front street setback areas or public
29
rights -of -way. Where a canal maintenance easement exists an
30
opening must be provided for maintenance purposes, and shall
31
be a minimum of eight (8') feet in width and be hinged or
32
removable for access.

(B) In residential districts, fences, walls or hedges erected, in-

stalled and maintained on corner lots must be set back at least

seven (7') feet from the lot line running parallel to the side street.
SECTION 2: Specific authority is hereby granted for codificatior
of this Ordinance.
SECTION 3: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith be and the same are hereby repealed.
SECTION 4: Should any section or provision of this Ordinance
or any portion thereof, or any paragraph, sentence or work be
declared by a Court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, such
decision shall not affect the validity of the remainder hereof
as a whole or any part hereof, other than the part declared to be
invalid.
SECTION 5: This ordinance shall become effective immediately
upon its passage.
