ORDINANCE NO. d_� _3
AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE PERTAINING TO A
PISTOL RANGE TO BE USED BY THE TAMARAC
POLICE DEPARTMENT; SETTING FORTH THE
FINDINGS OF AN EMERGENCY; WAIVING ALL
REQUIRMENTS FOR PLATTING; SITE PLAN APPROVAL;
AND FEES; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY OF IN-
VALID PROVISIONS; PROVIDING REPEALER; PRO-
VIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: FINDINGS OF AN EMERGENCY
The City of Tamarac finds that it is without a
pistol range where its officers can practice, train and meet
state qualification requirements. The Tamarac Fraternal Order
of Police has subleased a suitable site from Tamarac Utilities
Inc. located at the northwest corner of the land leased by
Tamarac Utilities Inc. in Tracts26, 27 and a portion of Tract
25 of Section 7 Township 49 South Range 41 East of Florida Fruit
Land Company Subdivision No. 2 within Broward County,Florida.
It is necessary that the Police Department have a location where
its officers can train and meet State qualification requirements,
and it is necessary that such a location be found and utilized
as expeditiously as possible in order to protect the health, safety
and welfare of the citizens of Tamarac, Florida.
SECTION 2: All platting requirements, all site plan
requirements, and all applicable fees required by ordinance or
resolution of the City of Tamarac are hereby waived for the
property in question for so long as the property is used for a
pistol range for the Tamarac Police Department. Nothing in this
section shall be deemed to prohibit the City Council of the City
of Tamarac from revoking authority for the use of said property
as a pistol range at any time and for any reason. All requirements
of the South Florida Building Code must be complied with,and
safety standards at the range must be approved by the Chief
Building Official of the City of Tamarac.

SECTION 3: Should any section or provision of this
Ordinance or any portion hereof or any paragraph, sentence or
word be declared by a Court of competent jurisdiction to be in-
valid,valid, such decision shall not affect the validity of the
remainder hereof as a whole or any part hereof o-ther than the part
declared to be invalid.
SECTION 4: All ordinance or parts of ordinance in
conflict herewith are repealed to the extent of such conflit.
SECTION 5: This ordinance shall become effective
immediately upon its passage at First and Second reading.
