CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
ORDINANCE NO. --Z
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 18-5(l)(c) OF THE TAMARAC
CITY CODE WHICH SETS FORTH THE AMOUNT OF OFF-STREET
PARKING REQUIRED BY CLARIFYING THE INTENT OF SAID
ORDINANCE AS IT PERTAINS TO ADDITIONAL SPACES FOR
GUEST PARKING, PROVIDING FOR CODIFICATION, PROVIDING
FOR SEVERABILITY OF INVALID PROVISION, PROVIDING
REPEALER AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA,
THAT SECTION 18-50 )(c) OF THE TAMARAC CITY CODE SHALL BE AMENDED BY ADDING THE
WORDS UNDERSCORED AND DELETING THE WORDS STRUCK THROUGH AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1:
Sec. 18-5. Amount of off-street parking required.
The off-street parking required by this chapter shall be provided
and maintained on the basis of the following minimum requirements:
(1) Residential.
(a) Single-family detached dwelling. 2 spaces.
(b) Two-family dwelling. 2 spaces per dwelling unit.
(c) Townhouses, duplexes, and multiple family dwellings:
Efficiency, 1.25 spaces per dwelling unit.
l bedroom, 1.50 spaces per dwelling unit.
2 bedroom, 1.75 spaces per dwelling unit.
3 bedroom, 2.0 spaces per dwelling unit.
4 or more bedrooms, 2.25 spaces per dwelling unit.
In addition to the requirements set forth for townhouses,
duplexes and multiple_family dwellin s, an additional
10% of the required aaieuRt-ef spaces shall be designated
on the plans and posted on the parking spaces for guest
use only. The spaces shall be located at a convenient
location to the main entrance and approved by the
planning commission.
(d) Rooming, boarding, or lodging house. 2 spaces, -plus l
space per rental sleeping unit.
(e) Dormitories, fraternities. 1 space per 2 beds plus 1
space per employee.
SECTION 2: Specific authority is hereby granted to codify this

SECTION 3: Should any section or provision of this Ordinance or
any portion hereof or any paragraph, sentence or word be declared by a Court
of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, such decision shall not affect the
validity of the remainder hereof as a whole or any part hereof other than the
part declared to be invalid.
SECTION 4: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 5: This ordinance shall become effective immediately
upon its final passage.
