CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
ORDINANCE NO. 0-7,'-I.6
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 18-6(1) OF THE
TAMARAC CITY CODE PERTAINING TO OFF STREET LOADING
REQUIREMENTS BY REMOVING THE REQUIREMENT THAT
APARTMENT BUILDINGS HAVE SEPARATE OFF STREET
LOADING FACILITIES; AND MODIFYING THE LOADING
REQUIREMENTS FOR OFFICE BUILDINGS, BANKS AND
SAVING AND LOAN ASSOCIATION BUILDINGS IN SECTIONS
18-6(1) AND 18-6(3)(a); PROVIDING FOR CODIFICATION;
PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING FOR REPEALER;
AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That Section 18-6(1) of the Tamarac City
Code is amended to include -the words underscored and delete the
words struck through its follows:
Sec. 18-6. Off-street loading.
(1) Off-street loading required. Except as otherwise
provided in this chapter, when any building or structure is erected,
structurally altered to the extent of increasing the floor area
by fifty (50) percent or more, or converted in use, accessory off-
street loading spaces, shall be provided in accordance with the
following schedule:
(a) For each retail building, department store,
restaurant, wholesale house, warehouse, repair, general
service, manufacturing or similar use, which has an
aggregate floor area in square feet of:
1. Over 2,000 but not over 10,000 - 1 space.
2. Over 10,000 but not over 20,000 - 2 spaces.
3. Over 20,000 but not over 40,000 - 3 spaces.
4. Over 40,000 but not over 60,000 - 4 spaces.
5. For each additional 50,000 over 60,000 - 2 spaces.
(b) For each apartFflemt-bu4Td*n9, hotel or motel,
e#fEe�-e-effee-b�}1deg, hospital or similar institutior
places of public assembly, or similar use, which has an
aggregate floor area in square feet of:
1. Over 5,000 but not over 10,000 - 1 space.

2. Over 10,000 but not over 100,000 - 2 spaces.
1 3. Over 100,000 but not over 200,000 - 3 spaces.
2 4. For each additional 100,000 over 200,000 - 3 spaces.
3 (c) There will be no separate off street loading
4 requirements for apartment buildings.
5 (d) For each office building and separate bank or
6 savings and loan association building there shall be
i required one loading zone with the dimensions of twelve
8 -(12) feet by twenty (20) feet and shall be so marked as
9 a loading zone.
10 SECTION 2: Section 18-6(3)(a) of the Tamarac City
11 Code is amended to include the words underscored and delete the
12 words struck through as follows:
13 (3)(a) Size and Location. For the purposes of
14 these regulations a loading space is a space within the
15 main building or on the same lot, logically and conven-
76 iently located for bulk pickups and deliveries. A
17 loading space shall be a minimum of twelve (12) feet
1$ in width, by sixty (60) feet in length, with the ex-
19 ception of the loading space for office buildings, banks
20 and savings and loan association buildings which shall
21 be twelve (12) feet in width by twenty 20) feet in
22 length and shall be so marked as a loading zone, and
23 shall be directly accessible from a street or alley
24 without crossing or entering any other required off-
25 street loading or off-street parking spaces. It shall
26 be arranged for convenient and safe ingress and egress
27 by delivery vehicles, both motor truck and/or trailer
28 combination.
29 SECTION 3: Specific authority is hereby granted to
30 codify this ordinance.
31 SECTION 4: Should any section or provision of this
32 ordinance or part hereof or any paragraph, sentence or word be
33 declared by a Court of competent jurisdiction to.be invalid, such
34 decision shall not affect the validity of the remainder hereof as

SECTION 6: This Ordinance shall become effective
upon its final passage.
