CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
ORDINANCE N0.
AN ORDINANCE CLOSING SOUTHGATE BOULEVARD WEST OF
N.W. 103 AVENUE, McNAB ROAD WEST OF NW 108 TERRACE
AND WEST PERIMETER ROAD TO MOTOR VEHICLES AND PRO-
VIDING A PENALTY FOR OWNERS AND OPERATORS OF
MOTOR VEHICLES ON SAID ROADS; PROVIDING FOR
CODIFICATION; PROVIDING REPEALER; PROVIDING FOR
SEVERABILITY OF INVALID PROVISIONS AND PROVIDING
AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: Findings of Fact. Southgate Boulevard West of
N.W. 102 Avenue, McNab Road West of N.W. 108 Terrace, and West Perimeter Road
have been constructed in the western extremity of Tamarac in anticipation of
development that will not take place for many years. These roads have been
used for unlawful dumping of junk and debris, for drag racing, possibly for
narcotics drop offs, and to convey persons who illegally discharge firearms
within Tamarac. It is not possible for the Tamarac Police Department to
adequately patrol these streets. There is no valid reason for any motor
vehicle to be on said streets.
SECTION 2: Southgate Boulevard west of NW 103 Avenue, McNab
Road west of NW 108 Terrace, and West Perimeter Road are declared closed to
vehicular traffic. It is a violation of this ordinance for any person to
operate or park a motor vehicle upon or on the right-of-way of Southgate
Boulevard west of NW 103 Avenue, McNab Road west of NW 108 Terrace, or West
Perimeter Road within the City of Tamarac. These two streets are delineated on
the map attached hereto and incorporated herein as Exhibit A. This section shall
not apply to owners of property bounded by either of these two streets.
SECTION 3: Violation of this ordinance shall be as provided
in Section 4 of Ordinance No. 78-24.
SECTION 4: Specific authority is hereby granted to codify this
ordinance in Chapter 17 Offenses Miscellaneous of the Tamarac City Code.
SECTION 5: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 6: Should any section or provision of this ordinance
or any portion hereof or any paragraph, sentence or word be declared by a Court

of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, such decision shall not affect the
validity of the remainder hereof as a whole or any part hereof other than the
part declared to be invalid.
SECTION 7: This ordinance shall become effective immediatley
upon its passage.
