CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
ORDINANCE NO.O-
AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE CITY FROM
MAKING CONTRIBUTIONS OF THE PUBLIC FUNDS
TO PRIVATE CHARITIES AND OTHER PRIVATE
SERVICE ORGANIZATIONS.,PROVIDING FOR CODI-
FICATION; PROVIDING REPEALER; PROVIDING
FOR SEVERABILITY OF INVALID PROVISIONS
AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, there is constantly a number of requests made by
worthwhile private charities and other private service organizations for City
funds, and
WHEREAS, the City Council recognizes that while these requests
are certainly worthwhile activities, it is not possible to grant all
of these requests, and
WHEREAS, it is not feasible to pick and choose among the
requests for the City's financial support.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That the City Council is prohibited from granting
requests for contributions to private charitable organizations and
,to other private service organizations.
SECTION 2: Specific authority is granted to codify this
,rdinance.
SECTION 3: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
.erewith are repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 4: Should any section or provision of this ordinance
,r any portion hereof or any paragraph, sentence or word be declared
�y a Court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, such decision
hall not affect the validity of the remainder hereof as a whole or
.ny part hereof other than the part declared to be invalid.
SECTION 5: This ordinance shall become effective immediately
upon its passage.
