CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
ORDINANCE NO. 0-
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OR
HIS DESIGNATE TO ESTABLISH FEES FOR SOCIAL SERVICES
AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT CLASSES AND PROGRAMS;
SETTING FORTH HOW MONEYS COLLECTED ARE TO BE
HANDLED; RATIFYING PRIOR ACTIONS; PROVIDING FOR
CODIFICATION; PROVIDING REPEALER; PROVIDING FOR
SEVERABILITY AND PRO'VI'DING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City's Recreation and Social Services
Departments conduct many programs for the benefit of the community,
and
WHEREAS, it is frequently necessary for these departments
to charge reasonable fees to recoup some of the cost of the program
to the City, to offset some administrative costs, and to pay in-
structors who are independent contractors, and
WHEREAS, it is necessary for said fees to be determined
by the City Manager or an individual designated by him, and
WHEREAS, it is deemed necessary to set forth the manner
in which fees are to be treated.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: The City Manager or his designate is
authorized to establish fees wherever appropriate in writing for
programs and classes sponsored or conducted by the City's
Recreation and Social Services Departments.
SECTION 2: All monies collected by the Social Services
and Recreation Departments under the terms of this Ordinance shall
be deposited into the appropriate account in the City's General
Fund Operating.
SECTION 3: The City Manager is authorized to expend
monies collected for a program or class for instructors or other
independent contractors and for expenses for the particular class
or program.
SECTION 4: It is intended that this ordinance
formalizes existing practices and prior actions,and expenditures

which generally followed the procedures set forth herein are
hereby ratified.
SECTION 5: Specific authority is hereby granted to
codify this Ordinance.
SECTION 6: Should any section or provision of this
Ordinance or any portion hereof or any paragraph, sentence or
word be declared by a Court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid
such decision shall not affect the validity of the remainder hereof
as a whole or any part other than the part declared to be invalid.
SECTION 7: All ordinances or parts of ordinances
in conflict herewith are repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 8: This ordinance shall become effective
upon its final passage.
