CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
ORDINANCE NO. O. 7
AN ORDINANCE CREATING THE TAMARAC RECREATION BOARD;
PROVIDING FOR POWERS, DUTIES, TERMS, COMPOSITION AND
APPOINTMENT OF MEMBERS; PROVIDING FOR CODIFICATION;
PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY OF INVALID PROVISIONS;
PROVIDING REPEALER AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: There is hereby created the Tamarac Recreation
Board consisting of not less than five (5) members appointed by the City Council
to serve for terms of one year or less at the pleasure of the City Council. A
majority of the members appointed shall constitute a quorum at meetings. The
Board shall promulgate its rules of order or procedure and shall select its own
officers.

SECTION 2: The Recreation Board's powers and duties shall
1. Make recommendations concerning recreational needs for the
entire city and implementation of a means of achieving those needs to the City
Council.
2. Make recommendations concerning existing,proposed and
prospective recreational programs to the City Manager and to the City Council.
3. Undertake any projects assigned by the City Council.
SECTION 3: The City Council anticipates appointing active
working members to this Board. Members are encouraged to volunteer their time
and services to the City's Recreation Department in such activities as publicity
and promotion of proposed events, coordination of events, chaperoning, running
concession stands, setting up of materials and clean up following events.
