CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
ORDINANCE NO.D 7 S Y
AN ORDINANCE REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 76-86 IN ITS
ENTIRETY, AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 73-36, SECTION 7,
PARAGRAPH A, PROVIDING FOR A TEMPORARY REVISED
SCHEDULE OF MAXIMUM RATES FOR CABLE TELEVISION
SERVICE; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT;
PROVIDING EFFECTIVE DATES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: Ordinance No. 76-86 is hereby repealed in its entirety.
SECTION 2: Section 7, Paragraph A of Ordinance No. 73-36 i,s hereby
amended to read as follows:
"A. REVISED SCHEDULE OF MAXIMUM RATES.
The following rates and charges are hereby authorized for service
under the franchise and shall not be changed withou-t prior
approval of the Council.
1. STANDARD RESIDENTIAL INSTALLATION CHARGE
1.1 1st TV Set $25.00
1.2 2nd TV Set $10.00
1.3 3rd TV Set $10.00
1.4 Mini -Amplifier (usually required on 3 or more sets)
add $36.00
1.5 4th TV Set or more - per estimate
1.6 Custom or non-standard (wall fish, buried drop, video
games) add $7.00
1.7 30' or 40' Remote Cord add $7.00
1.8 Interconnect VTR, Large Screen TV, FM, add $20.00
1.9 Trip charge for Items 1.2 to 1.8 subsequent to initial
installation, add $10.00
2. EXTRAORDINARY INSTALLATION
2.1 Hotel, Motel, Bulk Billing Multiple Units (5 units
or more) will be per estimate at Company's cost or
$10.00 per manhour plus materials, whichever is less.
2.2 Commercial Accounts (Bars, Restaurants) will be per
estimate at Company's cost or $10.00 per manhour plus
materials, whichever is less, with a $50.00 minimum.
2.3 Underground Differential' Surcharge. In cable extension
areas where electric, telephone and cable service must
be underground, each home will be coded to collect on
initial installation a time only non-refundable

Underground Differential Surcharge of up to

addition to standard residential installation
charge.
The surcharge is collected only once for the
first
subscriber and does not apply to subsequent
installations
and subscribers.
3. MISCELLANEOUS SUBSEQUENT SERVICE
3.1

4. SERVICE DEPOSIT
4.1
Residential subscriber - $15.00 deposit for each
company owned channel selector.
4.2
Hotels, Motels, Bulk Billing, Commercial Accounts
(Bars, Restaurants), TV Dealers - $30.00 for each
company owned channel selector.
4.3
Additional deposits may be required prior to reconnection
of delinquent subscribers.
4.4
All deposits earn 6% annual interest.
4.5
Deposits with interest refundable upon return of
channel
selector(s) in good condition, normal wear and tear
excepted, and account paid in full.

6. Any applicable Federal, State, Municipal fees or
taxes may be added to rates and charges.
7. The above shall not preclude Company from intro-
ducing and offering to subscribers new services as
they may from time to time become available..
These revised maximum charges shall remain in effect until
modification by the City. This increase is based entirely upon
representations by the franchisee that increased revenues are needed
and will be spent within the next nine months t,o expand the system
within Tamarac.
SECTION 3: All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in con-
flict herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION 4: Sections 1 and 2 of this Ordinance shall be-
come effective immediately upon its final passage and acceptance by
the franchisee. The rates set forth herein are subject to review
and adjustment by the City Council six months from its effective date
and beyond that time for the Council to determine if expansion of
the system within Tamarac is progressing in a satisfactory manner.
