ORDINANCE NO. $�
AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A WELCOMING COMMITTEE IN THE
CITY OF TAMNRAC; SETTING FORTH FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSI-
BILITIES: PROVIDING FOR TERM OF MEMBERS AND APPOIN M=
PROVIDING FOR CODIFICATION; PROVIDING REPEALER: PROVIDING
FOR SEVERABILITY OF INVALID PROVISION; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 81-30 established a Welcoming Committee;
and
WHEREAS, Ordinance 81-30 provided that it was to be effective through
12/10/81; and
WHEREAS, Council deems that the Welcoming Committee has been a
positive addition to the City;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: There is hereby created a Welcoming Committee which
shall be composed of a maximum of twelve (12) regular members. members shall serve
at the pleasure of Lhe City Council.
SECTION 2: FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Welcoming Committee is intended to work with the City Council
and the City administration to educate new citizens concerning the working of
government and how to familiarize themselves with the new carmnnity in which they
will be living. The Committee shall:
1. Invite new residents to attend a portion of a Council Meeting.
.2. Conduct tours of City Hall.
3. Provide for question and answer periods regarding such items as
tax, recreation and functions of different portions of City
government, and
4. Perform such other tasks as the Council may assign to the
Committee.
SECTION 3: Specific authority is hereby granted to codify this
ordinance.
SECTION 4: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are repealed to the extent of such conflict.

SECTION 5: Should any section or provision of this Ord-
inance or any portion thereof, or any paragraph, sentence or word be
declared by a Court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, such
decision shall not affect the validity of the remainder hereof as a
whole or any part hereof, other than the part declared to be invalid.
SECTION 6: This Ordinance shall become effective immediatell
upon.its•final passage.
